23 Jun 20 UTC Autumn, 1906: New Germany here!
23 Jun 20 UTC Autumn, 1906: That's quite a position to just pick up!
24 Jun 20 UTC Italy - I clicked draw. There are only 9 points outside of you and I. I say we end this now versus the dog and pony show.
24 Jun 20 UTC My vote is in!
24 Jun 20 UTC Excellent. France - Your the last!
24 Jun 20 UTC I'm not convinced this game is drawn. Italy still has a good shot at a solo, and we have five players who right up until the current turn have been taking supply centres off each other.
24 Jun 20 UTC If everyone else is serious that they're bored of the game and want to stop I'm not going to force people to keep playing, but we're stopping the game halfway.
24 Jun 20 UTC France - To answer your question on everyone's intentions....

You are the only player not selected "draw".
24 Jun 20 UTC The irony is that France has spent the greater part of two days rallying me (Germany) to get to a draw and prevent Italy from a solo. Now France is the only nation not selected "draw". How ironic!
24 Jun 20 UTC There's a difference between reaching a hard-fought draw, and just declaring a draw that hasn't been reached. We could declare a draw at the start of every game, and it wouldn't be satisfying.
24 Jun 20 UTC I just deliberately gave up a supply center to help reach the draw, dipping my score down to just replacing my investment. It's very unsatisfying not to have a chance to make the draw happen.
24 Jun 20 UTC Here’s my thought process..

A draw isn’t what my goal is. I’d obviously like to solo (who wouldn’t?). But I think taking the draw is the best option for me, given the scoring system. If this was DSS, no way I’m taking a draw now! But I see a board that all wants to draw, and that means they’ll unite against me if I don’t take the draw now. Plus I see a German homeland teaming with armies that can easily head south. I could scrap together defenses there, but I don’t this I have enough (with Turkey still alive) to hold a stalemate. I’m not soloing if everyone is willing to work towards a draw.

Obviously a draw is five people isn’t ideal, but Sum-of-Square scoring means we don’t all get the same amount of points. Eliminating another power doesn’t really sweeten the draw for the rest of us from a point perspective.

Has this game ground to a halt yet? No, it hasn’t. But I think everyone can agree that it’s in their individual best interest to draw, even if that isn’t a satisfying ending.
24 Jun 20 UTC Agree. If this was a DSS a draw would not make sense.

25 Jun 20 UTC Fine. GG all.
25 Jun 20 UTC Particularly well played Italy.
