Spring, 1901: Of to a great start!

Spring, 1901: Hi all! Kaiser is dead, hail new Kaiser!
Spring, 1901: Greetings minister of the walks. Thank you for stepping (pun intended) in.
Spring, 1907: Italy, your name fits you well. You serve only the powers that be.
Spring, 1907: Glad you are taking it well.
Spring, 1907: I'm only a little salty. Such is the game of Diplomacy though. I'm curious though, does anyone know the motivations of Russia? I don't understand their self implosion.
Spring, 1907: I discussed anti-English support with them, one time in 1901 and one time in 1904. No idea what their motivation was any time after Spring 1901, though.
Spring, 1907: I'm glad I'm not the only one. Well done though Italy, no hard feelings. It's just some trash talk. |
|
Autumn, 1909: I reconsidered my option as promised. I'll back down, and hopefully we can continue our cooperation.
Autumn, 1909: Just some small misunderstandings. No harm no foul.
Autumn, 1911: My draw vote is in, or are we gonna fight it out again?
Autumn, 1911: Is Germany going for the win!?
Autumn, 1911: I know this is probably not going to work but I just couldn't resist doing that. Again. If you try to eliminate me France is going to solo instead, so I will vote for the draw once you stall me.
Autumn, 1911: Allright, game on!
Autumn, 1911: It's simply against the spirit of the game not to try for a solo when there are no real repercussions, isn't it?
Autumn, 1911: If you feel like you have a chance to solo, you should always take it. I dont really see you getting there though, and I will spend my time proving it!
Autumn, 1911: Well that's the issue isn't it? You feel as if there are no repercussions but if you're nervous about me parlaying this into a successful solo attempt then there are in fact consequences.
Autumn, 1911: Correct me if I am wrong, but Italy is heavily interested in making this a three-way draw, as they have little to no chances of to solo themselves. Attempts to eliminate me will inevitably turn into you attempting a solo, so it would be you vs. me with Italy on the side of whoever is weaker at the moment and resulting in a draw sooner or later. If - or once - you stall me and force a draw, I don't lose anything compared to the present position or the position a turn ago.
Autumn, 1911: France has been nothing but thrusting to me. France, are you willing to take trust to the next level and try for a two way draw? We can push north with sheer fleet power and the Balkans are not going to hold once we get back into black sea. Would be slow going, but then again, when i finish a game i just join a new one so dont mind the slugfest it would bring. |
|
Autumn, 1911: Italy, I have mightily enjoyed working with you and of the three remaining players, it hasn't been you or I putting the three way draw in danger, so I agree to try for more. If our unit positioning says anything, it says we work together well. |
|
Autumn, 1911: Bring it on.
Haha voting a draw after just one move into the solo attempt?
Two moves. I'm giving you an opportunity to surrender ;)
Thank you o gracious one!
Gg all! | |
Great game all! | |
Thanks. Out of sheer curiosity, what was the reason for drawing the game? Was it lack of trust? I voted for it because I figured I didn't have enough chances to win this. |
|
And good luck with your games!
Our trust was solid. I feel like we could trust each other to go for a two way to be honest. My reasoning was that we could probably push you back, at least in Sevastopol and maybe a bit farther. And with enough time and guesses we could probably break into the Norwegian Sea and Scandinavia in weeks of gametime. I felt that this just wasnt worth it. |
|
Yeah same, the slog wasn't going to be worth the effort. It would have taken forever and some good guesses and it would have barely increased the take from the game. I was fine with a 3 way draw |
