Game won by JSkilla (217 D)
08 May 20 UTC Spring, 1901: This is interesting.
09 May 20 UTC Spring, 1901: Same rules, first to 18 wins
10 May 20 UTC Spring, 1902: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.
10 May 20 UTC Spring, 1902: Shoot I am so sorry
10 May 20 UTC Spring, 1902: No worry.
13 May 20 UTC Autumn, 1904: Since you have experience playing this, I'm interested in your opinion. It seems to me that a good Austrian player can block out France every time while France has to rely on Austria not fanning out to block the flanks.
13 May 20 UTC Autumn, 1904: What I mean is, Germany and Italy are battlegrounds while England is behind France so it is hers but Russia and Turkey plus the Bslkans are behind Austria and therefore hers.
13 May 20 UTC Autumn, 1904: In the number of games you've played, how many wins as France and how many as Austria?
13 May 20 UTC Autumn, 1904: So Austria has a natural advantage forsure because the Balkans is just in the backyard. With two evenly matched players, I think Austria wins more often. But as france its important to contest germany early. moving the army to portugal in the beginning takes away a valuable unit
15 May 20 UTC Autumn, 1904: France plays a tricky game of having to keep pressure with most all his units while keeping up with builds
15 May 20 UTC Autumn, 1904: You've played a pretty solid game
15 May 20 UTC Autumn, 1904: I was aiming for "pretty solid."
15 May 20 UTC Autumn, 1904: I'm still nervous about the mediterranean
17 May 20 UTC Autumn, 1905: tbh i haven't played diplomacy in a year but you are playing a really good game
17 May 20 UTC Autumn, 1905: Thanks for that. This pvp game requires a balance that is hard to fix.
17 May 20 UTC Spring, 1906: Yeah, its not the most balanced. I'll say I get wins as France...30% of the time? I'd need to check my stats I don't know off the top of my head. I'm also not the best at this variant, at least for how much I've played it. Last year when I was grinding these games, I was getting humbled a LOT
18 May 20 UTC Spring, 1906: A french victory almost always involved STP/Tunis and one of munich or berlin
18 May 20 UTC Spring, 1906: I've found success as France by being really tricky tbh...playing straight up doesn't get me too far cause I'm bad at tactics lmao.
19 May 20 UTC Autumn, 1906: Getting convoys into prussia/livonia can be a pretty useful move. A french army back there is so annoying
19 May 20 UTC Autumn, 1906: Well that fleet went to Denmark for a reason. :)
19 May 20 UTC Autumn, 1906: Haha true, I just meant slightly earlier.
19 May 20 UTC Autumn, 1906: Yeah. I'll anticipate where I need to have fleets sooner the next time I play this.
21 May 20 UTC gg! well played
21 May 20 UTC Thanks. I enjoyed this.
