11 Jun 20 UTC Very disappointed in Germany. France could have been stopped or at least stalemated. Not sure why you totally abandoned your defensive position
11 Jun 20 UTC You’re right Turkey. Bad decision on my part. I can take you through the rationale, but in hind sight, it already feels flawed.
11 Jun 20 UTC France had me at his mercy at many stages throughout the game, and never pulled the trigger. I also felt that France could beat me to 18 if we kept advancing they way we were. So if France wanted the win, he had it (not guaranteed, but a very significant advantage). So I decided if he was out for the win, I’d almost certainly take the loss no matter what. So I turn my thoughts to the other side of the coin. What if he wanted to try for the rare 2 way gunboat draw....
11 Jun 20 UTC If that was France’s intension, things would get sticky around Ankara/Smyrna (I totally expected Turkey to keep me out of Armenia as long as possible... another flawed assumption). I would need France’s help to get those centres (again, lending to the idea that if France wanted the win, he had it anyway). Even if France wanted to try for a 2 way, he might worry about me trying to get greedy somewhere (I know I’d have that worry). So I thought I’d show him I was no threat to a last minute reach.

So there’s the thought process. Please pick it apart. I’m always trying to improve and grow my game.
11 Jun 20 UTC Shoot. Sorry Germany. I was totally going for the two way gunboat draw. It took me so long to match your northern fleet and I am sure every fleet I built in breast you thought oh here it comes.
I could have taken belguim for years which I almost did just because I felt you had me dominated in Austria.
I absolutely love looking over our first few years together Germany. What a bond we made. The trust we showed in a gunboat game. :)
So then it all came down to my interpretation of your move.
It was either you showing me you were no threat, or you saying the game was fun but please take the win. Cause of the way we worked at the start. I even asked my wife, she said try for the win.
It was my birthday yesterday so I indulged :)
I really would have been happy with the two way draw.
Turkey I Can understand your frustration but I only don’t think it was ever going to be a three way draw. I saw three ways this could end.

France solo taking turkey SC
Germany solo taking Austria SC
Two way draw

This game was a lot of fun. Germany I thank you for being a great ally. My most enjoyable game that I was playing.

Best of luck to everyone in all the other games.
11 Jun 20 UTC Gg all and good luck with the rest of your games

Congrats Danaman on this one!
11 Jun 20 UTC I saw France getting to 18 a few turns ago and hoped to stop it. I think if the Austria-Turkey battle had resolved sooner the winner could have been in a strong enough position to force a 3 way draw (or perhaps tilt an outright win to either Germany or the Austria-Turkey winner
11 Jun 20 UTC No worries France. Call it a birthday present (not to take anything away from your win).

We definitely saw the game the same way. I got the idea of a 2 way in my head and got over-focused. Didn’t even think about stalemating for a 3 way (sorry Turkey). Probably a flaw in my game that I need to fix. I get absorbed with ideas to the point that I don’t seriously consider other options/outcomes. In any case, it was a thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining game. Hope to cross paths with anyone here again in the future. Best of luck to everyone in their other games.
11 Jun 20 UTC Well I thank you for the present :)
If you held the line I think we would have drawn at two.
Fun times.
