05 Dec 19 UTC Autumn, 1904: @Italy The first rule of the stab, just as it is in comedy, timing is everything. You know where my next fleet is going. You can take yours back to the Ionian and we'll overlook this foolish misstep.
05 Dec 19 UTC Autumn, 1904: @Turkey I get a build as well; I think this gives me a pretty compelling offensive, but I'm not wedded to this prod. Curious about what Germany has planned.

@Germany interesting moves, sir - they appear anti Austrian. Care to comment?
05 Dec 19 UTC Autumn, 1904: @Austria If Germany is truly moving against you I've got your back.
05 Dec 19 UTC Autumn, 1904: Turkey makes an excellent cheerleader, there's no denying, but what really helps against a German invasion is builds.
05 Dec 19 UTC Autumn, 1904: I'm hoping Germany made a move to Tyr to counter my move to Boh. If so, I'd like to have both armies back off and leave no-man's land empty once again.
05 Dec 19 UTC Autumn, 1904: Actually @Turkey as cool as it's been to bother you, we've got pretty good prospects against Austria, especially with the German incursion. If Germany is set on aggression, how about I leave Emed in exchange for your support ION-Gre? I doubt you're interested, since you've been riding hard for Austria all game, but we should at least discuss it.
05 Dec 19 UTC Autumn, 1904: @France that’s a great coincidence, I’m a pilot based in Yellowknife and I go to all those destinations pretty regularly haha. Too bad we turned out to be enemies. If Germany builds fleets I’ll be happy to cooperate with you in the interest of mutual survival
05 Dec 19 UTC Autumn, 1904: @Germany I hope you appreciate my help in making Germany great again. As i said above, I’ll consider any fleet builds a declaration of intent to squash England. Also I’ll need support to the North Sea and English Channel
05 Dec 19 UTC Autumn, 1904: and @Italy I love Vancouver Island as well. Victoria is my second home and i’ve got good friends from Campbell river and nanaimo
05 Dec 19 UTC Autumn, 1904: Right on! Only been here a few months, but so far so good.
05 Dec 19 UTC Autumn, 1904: @Italy no army for Lepanto so you propose to stab me instead? Seems a bit premature, especially when Germany is poised to thunder through Iberia. It'd be a shame to end our alliance, and participation in the game at large, bickering while the north gains on us all.
05 Dec 19 UTC Autumn, 1904: The German people would be content with a 5-way draw at this point, as Russia and France are on their last legs.
@England The German people plan to construct a single fleet and a single army in the upcoming season to continue to ensure German prosperity, and not to encroach on your lands. If you would like help to retake London and Edinburgh, you may send a telegram with the details. Also, our people are curious as to why the army stationed in Liverpool remained there instead of defending Edinburgh.
@Austria The Kaiser did, in fact, order one of his armies to Tyrolia to counter the questionable Austrian move to Bohemia.
The Kaiser is currently discussing matters with the privy council, and no firm orders have been decided for next year at this point. Foreign diplomats are welcome to send telegrams concerning future conflicts or matters of state.
05 Dec 19 UTC Autumn, 1904: @Italy Despite your excellent taste in geography (I love the Pacific NW and Vancouver Island is one of my favorite places on Earth), I cannot see throwing Austria over. You're correct that I've been sweating them like a high school crush, but I ain't been too proud to beg. The way everything is playing out has reinforced my thoughts that we should be working together.
05 Dec 19 UTC Autumn, 1904: @Austria I get a build, and could totally use it on an army for a Lepanto. I'm more trying to prompt an end to the deadlock before a) Imperial Germany sweeps the world, and b) I start a new job on Monday and will have much less time for Diplomacy.

If a five way draw is still desirable, with some luck Russia and France could be brought to heel in a year and we could sign the papers. Given the current sum of squares score card, though, I can't imagine Turkey or England would agree to a draw.
05 Dec 19 UTC Autumn, 1904: Edinburgh was a miscalculation, i expected france to bump norway in which case I’d fail to capture Liv if I moved to Edi. Will Germany support England to the channel and to the north sea?
05 Dec 19 UTC Autumn, 1904: Opening a new front with me will not get you an Armistice by Monday, mi amico.
06 Dec 19 UTC Autumn, 1904: @England Certainly.
06 Dec 19 UTC Autumn, 1904: Haha, no, it definitely wouldn't Austria.

I've been several actual weeks trying to reduce the draw size and getting limited interest. I'm proposing any and every combination (that includes me winning, natch)!
06 Dec 19 UTC Autumn, 1904: @England coincidentaly a good friend of mine who is also active on Webdip also lives it yellowknife. Small world!

Okay I'll stop now.

Also we don't have to be enemies. If you cede Liverpool I'm willing to forgive all past aggression.
06 Dec 19 UTC Autumn, 1904: @Turkey Salutations! The German privy council would like to know whether you would like to do a 5-way draw, engage in a war against another nation (besides Russia), or decline to do either. If you choose the third option, the council would like to know what would motivate you to choose either of the other options. Regards, members of the council.
06 Dec 19 UTC Autumn, 1904: @The German Privy Council and High Command: The Sultan would prefer a 5 way draw once Russia and France are eliminated.
06 Dec 19 UTC Autumn, 1904: @England Would you like to you do a 5-way draw once France and Russia are eliminated?
@Austria Would you like to do a 5-way draw once France and Russia are eliminated?
06 Dec 19 UTC Autumn, 1904: Vive le France!
06 Dec 19 UTC Autumn, 1904: I would agree to this, in principle. Incursions on Austrian territory renders this verbal agreement null.
06 Dec 19 UTC Autumn, 1904: my vote is draw
06 Dec 19 UTC Autumn, 1904: I'll sail back into my seaway in spring, then, if we're all happy with a fiver.

@Germany I'd prefer you didn't move into Gascony or Piedmont, for reasons I hope are obvious :)
08 Dec 19 UTC Spring, 1905: @Germany A Boh is withdrawing out of No Mans Land; Austria hopes you see fit to do the same with A Tyr.
08 Dec 19 UTC Spring, 1905: @England I'm going to bring my fleet in Spain around to the north coast this year.
08 Dec 19 UTC Spring, 1905: Sure. @Turkey would you like moscow?
08 Dec 19 UTC Spring, 1905: @England Yes, many thanks. Would you kindly support me in from St. Petersburg? At that point I will have reached the extent of my ambitions.
09 Dec 19 UTC Spring, 1905: Sounds good
09 Dec 19 UTC Spring, 1905: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.
09 Dec 19 UTC Spring, 1905: :'(
09 Dec 19 UTC Spring, 1905: :'(
09 Dec 19 UTC Spring, 1905: @Italy There is currently no reason to move your fleet to the North Coast of Spain that is peaceful to both the German and English peoples. Therefore, if you move your fleet to MAO or the North Coast of Spain, that will be interpreted as a hostile act and responded to with force. If you no longer intend such a move, please state this before season's end.
09 Dec 19 UTC Spring, 1905: @Austria The German army will be leaving Tyrolia this season with the understanding that the Austrian army will not be in Bohemia or Silesia at the end of this season. Please confirm.
09 Dec 19 UTC Spring, 1905: @Germany I confirm withdrawal of A Boh to Vie this season.
09 Dec 19 UTC Spring, 1905: @Germany the intention was to deny German occupation of Gascony, but if you're against my moving the fleet it'll hold position.
10 Dec 19 UTC Spring, 1905: Acknowledged.
@Italy We can both peacefully hold as is in the Franco-Iberian region.
10 Dec 19 UTC Autumn, 1905: Works for me @Germany, though I was tempted to occupy Portugal for the season in schmucky compliance with your wishes.
10 Dec 19 UTC Autumn, 1905: You’re welcome to be as shmucky as you like Italy, Lord knows Portugal is at your mercy. I don’t comprehend or appreciate the idea that you’d consider attacking me because you’re annoyed at Germany though
11 Dec 19 UTC Autumn, 1905: In terms of the scorecard, my centers are worth more if Austria wins Warsaw; is that acceptable to Germany, or is doing math a hostile act that will be responded to with force?
11 Dec 19 UTC Autumn, 1905: Haha, no such luck. All this effort for seven diplo dollars!
15 Dec 19 UTC Farewell France. You fought well. I’m in Iqaluit now, let me know if you ever want to play another game or get in touch
15 Dec 19 UTC My draw vote is in folks. I’d like to express my respect for Germany. I made myself vulnerable in the war with France and could have easily been a taken over by German fleets. To call for a draw when you had the best offensive position on the board shows true maturity and honour
15 Dec 19 UTC The restraint of all other players including the defeated is acknowledged and appreciated
15 Dec 19 UTC Draw vote is in
15 Dec 19 UTC Drawn. Italy? Any last minute machinations?
15 Dec 19 UTC Shrug. Austria not looking to attack either turkey or myself firmly minimized the amount of shenanigans achieved. So it goes! Gg
16 Dec 19 UTC GG all!
Thanks, England. I saw the peaceful triumvirate in the south, and I decided that it seemed better to play it safe than to try to go for a world conquest as Germany, especially bearing real life history in mind.
If there had been any other fighting, I probably would've wanted to try for more but I was content with +83 points from SoS, and I was glad you, my ally, earned +27, while both nations that attacked me were defeated :)
I enjoyed the RP and nature of this game; it was refreshing. Thanks everyone!

Tbh, I thought Italy (or someone else) might secretly not vote draw, and I was curious how that would play out. I'm content with this ending though :)
