23 Oct 19 UTC Autumn, 1904: Expect the unexpected
24 Oct 19 UTC Autumn, 1904: When 4 rivals decide to all come at you, even Russia is doomed......:-))
24 Oct 19 UTC Autumn, 1904: p.s.: France - looks like you are the next patient....
24 Oct 19 UTC Autumn, 1904: Early announcing Juggs need to have solid tactical backing, coz everyone will be coming for you.
24 Oct 19 UTC Autumn, 1904: Such a lovely multi-colored Russia
26 Oct 19 UTC Autumn, 1905: That feeling as Austria, when you played too nice and our now about to get punished by everyone for not crushing them earlier >.<
26 Oct 19 UTC Autumn, 1905: Feel your pain....:-((
27 Oct 19 UTC Autumn, 1905: And now England stabs germany. Classic story.
28 Oct 19 UTC Autumn, 1905: Central nation life be like...hi neighbours, lets me freinds...*stabs from the rear*
28 Oct 19 UTC Autumn, 1905: got to kill the corners early guys... because if you don't kill them early, hard to ever kill them.
31 Oct 19 UTC Autumn, 1906: Any advice on which one to destroy? I just realized how spead out I am.
01 Nov 19 UTC Spring, 1907: Italy, are you aware that you are allowed to build fleets in Naples as well as Rome?
01 Nov 19 UTC Spring, 1907: Yes, I'm aware
02 Nov 19 UTC Spring, 1907: Well it was a good game while it lasted
02 Nov 19 UTC Autumn, 1907: I feel your pain, Germany........:-))
02 Nov 19 UTC Autumn, 1907: Moderator: (bo_sox48): By request, this game is going to be paused for the weekend. If it is not unpaused by Monday morning, please email webdipmod@gmail.com.
03 Nov 19 UTC Autumn, 1907: Moderator: (bo_sox48): Unpaused.
05 Nov 19 UTC Autumn, 1907: Lets ready up!
06 Nov 19 UTC Spring, 1908: and now Italy dies.
07 Nov 19 UTC Autumn, 1908: Whatever you say, buddy
07 Nov 19 UTC Autumn, 1908: o7
07 Nov 19 UTC Spring, 1909: As England correctly points out this game is a stalemate. We have two alliances wich cannot breach each others lines and neither are likely to do anything dumb. I will vote draw.
07 Nov 19 UTC Spring, 1909: Or at least so close to a line that it makes little difference
07 Nov 19 UTC Spring, 1909: I voted too. If any talks about eliminating the small power, I will give Tukey all the help I can muster.
07 Nov 19 UTC Spring, 1909: If any on your side of the line turns on you Germany, the line breaks. We can do a few turns to see how loyal/smart (use wichever you feel applicable) everyone is ;)
07 Nov 19 UTC Spring, 1909: My draw vote has been in for a bit
07 Nov 19 UTC Spring, 1909: I voted, too
07 Nov 19 UTC Spring, 1909: me too!
07 Nov 19 UTC Spring, 1909: So who is lying? The game hasnt ended.
07 Nov 19 UTC Spring, 1909: On account of recent messages I withdraw my vote. I will vote draw again when it is absolutely no way anyone can win.

My aplogies for the wall of text to follow.

In my opinion and by ye olde rulebook there is one win condition in this game 18SC, the solo. If you can't get that the preferable outcome is that no one else wins either, the draw. There are no part way win or better or worse lose.

The webdip points are not, in my opinion, anything to base the game on, they are fun, bragging rights and somewhat useful to separate experienced from inexperienced players, but I don't think they should be considered a reward in itself.

For the two-three biggest players to band together to maximize points is counter to the game as intended and flat out mean. Either it's a draw and everyone surviving at that time is part of the draw or it's not a draw and we keep playing until either someone win or a draw is forced.

Call me old school, but I'm pushing 40 so I'm allowed
08 Nov 19 UTC Spring, 1909: Ehh isn’t tournament scoring always based on draw size? (I suppose some are sum of squares but the point stands). Player rankings have points given for getting in small draws consistently too.

You can play however you want, that’s your prerogative but I don’t think it’s the typical way (I could be wrong). Also you’ve just announced to everyone that you aren’t willing to draw with them
08 Nov 19 UTC Spring, 1909: He said hes willing to draw if there is no way to win. So all we have to do is hold the line until he gives up.
08 Nov 19 UTC Spring, 1909: Turkey has his head far up Italy's ass, and vice versa, it would appear.
08 Nov 19 UTC Spring, 1909: Ok, I see maybe my last post was too long to be understood.

I do not like playing as if the points are a reward in itself. I find that eliminating players simply to get more points is silly and not in the spirit of the game.
08 Nov 19 UTC Spring, 1909: Draw vote back in.
08 Nov 19 UTC Spring, 1909: France: as I see it the point of the game is winning (failing that prevent others from winning) not getting maximum return for invested webdip points :)

I played Diplomacy before I discovered the online option and I'm pretty sure there were nothing in the rules about points or gradients of winning :)

England: no need to be rude, I have explained my rationale for not stabbing Italy to the best of my ability. You are no doubt a skilled player, but you shouldn't need to be snarky just because you and I disagree ;)
08 Nov 19 UTC Spring, 1909: You all can say you hit draw but until the game ends some's pants are on fire.
08 Nov 19 UTC Spring, 1909: This is a fun debate to watch :)
08 Nov 19 UTC Spring, 1909: also, nothing in the rules about being rude or not, and I think that your attitude is totally full of shit, and I have been playing since before you were even born, dickhead.

The objective of the game is to win, to solo. Thereafter to share in the draw and smaller draws with larger shares of SC and points are better results than large draws. May as well draw in spring of 1901 with your attitude.

There's more. Italy should be killed, because he deserves to die for playing like shit. his insistence in attacking Austria when the map suggested that he not, because he created a Turkish monster, was poor play. He handed turkey and overwhelming position, which a proper turkey would use to smash Italy into dust.

Turkey, you should play chutes and ladders or other less competitive games.

Another objective of the game is to have fun, and I think it is fun to call it like it is, and say what I think about you, and you can think it's rude or not, and I don't give a shit, so fuck off.

5 way draw on this map is a ridiculous result.
08 Nov 19 UTC Spring, 1909: No rules against tattoing a dick to your own forehead either, yet most of us choose not to so :D
08 Nov 19 UTC Spring, 1909: interesting analogy Turkey, are you currently looking in a mirror?
08 Nov 19 UTC Spring, 1909: Ay, no need to be a bitch; it's literally just a game
I'm voting a draw because I'd rather not associate with certain toxic people anymore. I just want this to be over with.
08 Nov 19 UTC Spring, 1909: Id draw and get this over win, move on to the next game.
08 Nov 19 UTC Spring, 1909: with*
09 Nov 19 UTC Good playing with everyone. Tugster your reputation proceeds you but I found you to be a good ally even after the stab.
09 Nov 19 UTC better to be known as a ruthless asshole than to be an unknown nobody like Turkey and Italy.
09 Nov 19 UTC Well Im nobody as well so they are i ln good company.
09 Nov 19 UTC I am used to playing with other high powered ruthless assholes, that would NEVER agree to a 5 way draw, but I sensed obviously that none of you are ruthless enough, besides my new girlfriend is coming over here for a few days, so this is my only non gunboat game, and no need to be typing to you noobs, when I could be spending time with her. Had she not been coming, I would have destroyed Germany, giving Turkey Berlin to see if he would have stabbed Italy, but then hey, not worth it, with her being here for a few days, I certainly do not need to appear to be a total LOSER by typing to a bunch of noobs all weekend... time better spent marinading some chicken to grill up for her and scrubbing down my shower!

Hey, I know, TMI. Bye bye non ruthless people. So as a side note, in real life, I am a mild mannered polite and kind person, to everyone, but in the game of diplomacy, I find it fun to step out and be nasty... :)
09 Nov 19 UTC Pfffft well, egotism out of the way, I did find it fun to play with all of you. Have a nice life y'all
