09 Jun 19 UTC Enemy, you dont see that we allied up? xd
09 Jun 19 UTC They had a close alliance, and were about equal in power. It wasn't a bad call.
09 Jun 19 UTC Not really with Russia new build
09 Jun 19 UTC I think we couldve made it a long way
09 Jun 19 UTC Certainly better than granting it to Turkey, who he was actively fighting
09 Jun 19 UTC And also Russia is a country with great ambition. It is clear.
09 Jun 19 UTC I made it with roughly 6 seconds to go. In my eyes, it was the best call to make. Moving to Ank was useless, unless I wanted them to retreat to Istanbul (resulting in the unpredictability surrounding Bul.) Moving to Georgia was useless, and Russia was clearly in it for the long haul with me, I could tell by their press. They were sharing details about their future that made me trust them. (i.e. backstab Britain, etc.)
09 Jun 19 UTC @Turkey never turned to Ukr
09 Jun 19 UTC 2 more lads for the gunboat in 20ish minutes
09 Jun 19 UTC Backstab Britain???
09 Jun 19 UTC No, he wouldn't have
09 Jun 19 UTC what's gunboat?
09 Jun 19 UTC Very new to Diplomacy, my bad
09 Jun 19 UTC No messaging (no press, what we were discussing)
09 Jun 19 UTC You play without press
09 Jun 19 UTC Is it a game without a chat?
09 Jun 19 UTC ah
09 Jun 19 UTC gotcha
09 Jun 19 UTC Also, if you ever are explaining terminology, you have to say it's "Diplospeak" ;)
09 Jun 19 UTC No worries, its just tactical instead of deceptive/cooperative from the outset
09 Jun 19 UTC I only agree the 1st sentence.
09 Jun 19 UTC No messaging. It's a great way to practice tactical skills, and it'll help players get better at reading maps, since you have to read players moves as signals about who they want to go after and ally with. Not as good as press, but still quite fun.
09 Jun 19 UTC link spam http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=242490
09 Jun 19 UTC I highly recommend it if you're new - it made me a hell of a better player.
09 Jun 19 UTC The thing is, in the real world. Words is for normal people. The government only see the actions.
09 Jun 19 UTC Agree
09 Jun 19 UTC With Britain, haha
09 Jun 19 UTC Agreed. I've been playing a lot of gunboat recently, and it's made me better. Nowhere near NEFS's level, but we're getting there.
09 Jun 19 UTC In gunboat, you should make alliance in silent. That is so so crazy.
09 Jun 19 UTC Can queerly be less confusing than having someone talk you into suicide though, sometimes
09 Jun 19 UTC There's a story there.
09 Jun 19 UTC Don't be modest Mag; I'm still playing catch up to you on live overall GR ;)
09 Jun 19 UTC wait what Boh??
09 Jun 19 UTC Oh yes, the story is that over the past week I have had free time to play more press and been walloped haha. Workin on it
09 Jun 19 UTC Ah - join the gunboat and kick my ass then!
09 Jun 19 UTC still need 2 more
09 Jun 19 UTC I just got get better at lying/not being lied to so easily, so sometimes gauging the tactical of boat is easier, is all I am saying
09 Jun 19 UTC Yup now just 1 haha
09 Jun 19 UTC In for gunboat, better at gunboat anyway (I assumed this was gonna be gunboat until I recieved a message from ukraine, wasnt really in the game
09 Jun 19 UTC A trustworthy source ones told me that honesty in Diplomacy is worth much more
09 Jun 19 UTC It is. I'm curious- how long did you plan and staying allies with me?
09 Jun 19 UTC But wuldve gotten istan back and hold my ground for a while I guess, cant be unhappy with the draw though
09 Jun 19 UTC Until I ran out of space to move. I built armies to go after Turkey and Germany, After that i most likely wouldve build fleets only
09 Jun 19 UTC Well there's only 8 mins left to join, but I believe anything can happen since Ukraine joined this with like 4 secs left lol
09 Jun 19 UTC 1 more for gunboat folks!
09 Jun 19 UTC How do you know it was ukraine?
09 Jun 19 UTC He told me first thing
09 Jun 19 UTC That makes sense :P
09 Jun 19 UTC Yeah, back when I thought France and I were the only two players.
I'm working on something, but if you don't find a player I'll join in. As some people know though, I'm overly restrictive with my points
09 Jun 19 UTC The wealthy are wealthy because they don't spend superfluously
