I tried to help Cuba defend but it's just too hard with the map Peru has a big advantage over Cuba.

Yeah. It's really hard for Cuba to take on Peru. Your initial move to the straights of Florida prevented me from convoying an army to Nicaragua. Maybe I would have had a chance then. Would have held Nicaragua for one more turn at least. GG all.
