20 Nov 18 UTC Spring, 1903: Does Russia being cute and cuddly necessitate none of the above as the answer?
20 Nov 18 UTC Spring, 1903: I think we need a vote on whether Russia is actually cute and cuddly
20 Nov 18 UTC Spring, 1903: Cuggly not cuddly haven’t you seen the ad?
20 Nov 18 UTC Spring, 1903: No I think Russia's nice and should keep his units #keepthegulags
20 Nov 18 UTC Spring, 1903: For the record, Russians, cuggly or otherwise, are not particularly welcome in Vienna :)
21 Nov 18 UTC Spring, 1903: I did warn you I would throw to turkey..,
21 Nov 18 UTC Spring, 1903: I thought we were voting about that ;) This feels a bit like a Eurovision contest, where Aussie's get to compete these days...
21 Nov 18 UTC Spring, 1903: I’ll enter “Don’t you want me baby?”
21 Nov 18 UTC Spring, 1903: Leave the Human League out of this!!!
25 Nov 18 UTC Autumn, 1903: Going dark for 24 hours. Travelling to a far off and hostile land. Will be ready for the next phase
25 Nov 18 UTC Autumn, 1903: If you are travelling out of Sydney - hopefully the backlog from the dust storm has cleared. Happy travels!
25 Nov 18 UTC Autumn, 1903: What's Sydney like at the moment? Will be flying in to Sydney from Perth on Wednesday morning (however won't really be going dark for more than half a day).
25 Nov 18 UTC Autumn, 1903: Melbourne for LA. It’s like being in “The Walking Dead”
26 Nov 18 UTC Autumn, 1903: I think Sydney is ok now - just had a few friends stuck there for the weekend who were expecting to be back in Bris Vegas by the weekend due to flights being cancelled/delayed due to high winds / the dust storm.
26 Nov 18 UTC Autumn, 1903: Happy to Pause if you need one Calmar
26 Nov 18 UTC Autumn, 1903: Have a good one!
26 Nov 18 UTC Autumn, 1903: Just to get an idea, would anyone here be keen for a series of seven games (probs gunboat) in which we each get each country once and see what happens?
26 Nov 18 UTC Autumn, 1903: Much prefer GB since Turkey is giving me the shits and has been painful since Day 1 :)
26 Nov 18 UTC Autumn, 1903: Gunboat by 7 rounds sounds fun
26 Nov 18 UTC Autumn, 1903: I have never actually played a gunboat before. Is it hard if you are used to full press?
27 Nov 18 UTC Autumn, 1903: It’s definitely different but you can send signals by your actions instead of words
27 Nov 18 UTC Autumn, 1903: In general gunboats are more conservative and more likely to solo as there is no communication. Its great though as its kinda all instinct and you're less likely to get gangbanged
27 Nov 18 UTC Autumn, 1903: Gangbanged? Gangbung?
27 Nov 18 UTC Autumn, 1903: meh, gunboat is fun
02 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 1904: Hi everyone, I know I'm almost gone and this is probably pretty irritating, but I'm away Monday - Wednesday and Saturday-sunday could we get a pause for at least some of those days? Thanks :)
03 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 1904: Congratulations to Wusti for making it through to the Gunboat tournament finals!
03 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 1904: You wouldn't know it from this game. That German support into Moscow was petty.
03 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 1904: Well - one of the things I am certain about in relation to diplomacy - is that you can't judge a player on the outcome of a single game. Way too many variables, turning points and decisions, many of which others can't see, and the relevant country might not even be able to influence. Appreciate we ended up on the other side of things in this one - but I don't underestimate how hard it would have been to make it through given the number of people who competed in that one. From what I remember the world cup tournament on this site is a mix of full press, public press and gunboat....
03 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 1904: Yeah I think I came out of that first round as top 10 which I was stoked about. out of 7 games that was 1 Solo, 2 x 3WD and 2 x 4WD with 2 eliminations, one largely contributed by an NMR'd neighbour at exactly the wrong time. and at least 1 other was a solo opp I lost due to my own NMR screw up. But I was pleased with my showing.
03 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 1904: I'm going throw in my unpause vote with a view to restarting once our Kiwi friend returns.
05 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 1904: Thx guys sry about the late notice
05 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 1904: Was this the Melbourne dip tournament? How'd it go, many people show up?
09 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 1904: Does the pause run out after a certain time?
The Cricket is too boring and I want some Diplomacy action
09 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 1904: Ooops sorry, lowkey forgot about the game!!!
10 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 1904: Haha alg, glad we're going again. Sry Oz for your loss, still kinda cut over the ODI world cup a few years ago tho, so not too sry
10 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 1904: Yep - cricket gods were cruel to us today. Maybe we should reverse the batting order, so if one of our bowlers can ‘bat through with the tail’ (ie our top order)...
18 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 1905: Gg everyone, I wasn't around long but ah well guess I've got to up my game :/
18 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 1905: If anything interesting comes up in global I'll be back to chat
18 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 1905: Sayonara kids
19 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 1905: Bye for now Tsar Wusti and Kaiser Cougar
19 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 1905: Yep - bravely fought. On the upside - you get released pre-Christmas!
19 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 1905: Unless one of you tried to solo this'll be finished before Christmas anyway.
24 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 1906: Merry Christmas everyone! Hope you all have a fantastic day!
24 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 1906: Merry Christmas everyone and best wishes for the new year! Looks like it will be a hot one across most of Aus!
25 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 1906: Merry Christmas everyone I know I'm a day late but didn't come on yesterday with the same over but hope you had a good one
25 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 1906: Merry Christmas everyone I know I'm a day late but didn't come on yesterday with the same over but hope you had a good one
26 Dec 18 UTC Autumn, 1906: Well played all, been a good one :)
26 Dec 18 UTC Hoping to head for a draw now so thanks everyone. It would be good to do this again soon
26 Dec 18 UTC GG! Thanks everyone for the game, was the best game of diplomacy I've played - great to play it with Aus/NZ players! Hope we can do this again soon!
30 Dec 18 UTC Good game all - appreciate everyone giving it a go. I'm on holidays for a while, back to work properly on the 14th - but up for another one in the new year (maybe that game of modern so we can include anyone who missed out on our first go).
