09 Nov 18 UTC Autumn, 1907: Moderator: (Claesar): Could the person who likes to enter orders at the last minute instead save some preliminary orders well before the deadline? We keep thinking you're about to NMR. Thanks :-)
17 Nov 18 UTC GG everyone!
17 Nov 18 UTC Man I just couldn't crack the line at Warsaw...I think I would have had the solo if I'd been able to get more fleets in the Med faster but oh well. Really fun game everyone!
17 Nov 18 UTC Yeah gg all
17 Nov 18 UTC Good game! We should have drawed before i died :)
17 Nov 18 UTC Good game all! How hilarious would it have been if I had guessed correctly in fall 1904, and gotten a build with EGI all coming after me?
17 Nov 18 UTC Hahaha, that would've been pretty funny France...

Good game everyone! That was a lot of fun.

Something I really came to regret was that fleet in Berlin in the 1901 builds... I wanted to cement my alliance with England, but it made Russia come for me full ham, so they were completely exposed to Turkey. I think I could've built in Kiel, since I'd already blocked Russia's move to Sweden and England and I had both tried to support each other into Belgium. If I'd done that maybe Russia would've focused south to hamper Turkey.

I think Turkey also benefited in 1904 when Italy tried to push two armies into France... I was going insane with that move, as Italy also left Austria alive in Budapest and didn't try to advance their army into the Balkans against Turkey, despite Turkey having pretty much everything wrapped up from Greece to Moscow. I still wanted Italy for an ally in case I wanted to stab England later, so I kept positing for the support into Marseilles, even though what I really wanted was for Italy to turn around.

Not that you didn't play fantastically Turkey. :D I particularly appreciated the lunge for St. Petersburg in Autumn '04 - much guts. I think you're right that you were a little fleet-light by the end-game (the armies were doing great work for you, of course), but England also did a solid job of pouring into the Med in 1907-1908. I was always thinking about how to get back and support Marseilles, Munich and Berlin, but with England so far into the Med we had a lot of leverage.
17 Nov 18 UTC Yeah Germany, your analysis is correct. I would have felt a lot less threatened with a fleet build in Kiel. Was a mistake for me to go full out on you regardless though.

Good game everyone.
18 Nov 18 UTC Yeah France that would've been interesting. You were very screwed once Italy came for you tho, unluckily for you.

Yeah I made the med a huge priority as soon as I saw turkey getting big lol
18 Nov 18 UTC Also, I think Austria had very good opening moves, blocking a move to Trieste and Galicia. It's too bad they NMRed right after. I would have like to see how they fared.
18 Nov 18 UTC haha sorry! midterms were happening and I forgot how intense a 12-hour game is
18 Nov 18 UTC once I NMR'd round 2 it was all over
18 Nov 18 UTC Yes, i think i made the wrong choice when i goed for France. I should have gone for Austria and Turkey.
18 Nov 18 UTC naw you should never have gone for austria. Italy, this is a lil gunboat tip for you: austria is your friend when you're italy. going after austria from the start basically always guarantees that you both die.
18 Nov 18 UTC But we also died now ;)
18 Nov 18 UTC You attacked austria for like 4 straight years my guy. That's what i'm alking about. you let turkey get big as fuck by doing it, and turkey is stronger than you if austria dies that early (especially when russia dies fast)
18 Nov 18 UTC You know, one of the funny things about the board is that if Turkey or France isn't destroyed immediately, they get insanely powerful and almost impossible to destroy. Hopefully this doesn't come back to bite me one day, but I generally have a policy of destroying those two powers immediately if I'm not playing them.
18 Nov 18 UTC That's my policy; it bit me :p
19 Nov 18 UTC any other gunboat tips? asking for a friend
19 Nov 18 UTC besides "put your moves in" lol
