14 May 18 UTC Spring, 1901: Moderator: (ghug): Welcome to the 2018 Gunboat Tournament!

You've been placed into seven games. If you're not in seven games, you haven't received each power exactly once, or you feel you've been put in the tournament in error, please contact me as soon as possible.

Games have been paused to ensure that nobody misses a phase due to the abnormal nature of the game starts. If you have not voted unpause by Wednesday, May 15th, I will contact you and begin docking from your seven days of allocated pause time in one day increments. If you need a pause, please let me know.

Good luck!
18 Jun 18 UTC Spring, 1906: Moderator: (bo_sox48): Paused by player request until June 21. Per tournament rules, each player is granted up to 7 days of pause time.
01 Jul 18 UTC Spring, 1906: Moderator: (ghug): Unpaused.
30 Aug 18 UTC Well, that was a shit show haha. Not sure I could have played that any worse start to finish.
30 Aug 18 UTC True but it was Austria who pushed the envelope once too often I think - Valis - your commentary would be most welcome on that score haha
30 Aug 18 UTC Sorry, not trying to take anything away from you Wusti. You played well. I'm just mad at my poor play. Misorders, an early NMR, a general lack of purpose. Just gross.
30 Aug 18 UTC I know what you’re saying - valis also gifted me that solo, and I only presume it was because of Austria.
30 Aug 18 UTC Also FYI zack - I had no intention of turning on you until you made your 3 turn telegraphed move to block me
30 Aug 18 UTC Correct.
31 Aug 18 UTC No, I realize that, Wusti. I was just kind of moving aimlessly, and then realized you were a pretty big solo threat, so I was like, well, better at least try to be useful to the board. Clearly, I failed haha.
31 Aug 18 UTC Well played, Wusti. I'm mostly just amazed that I lasted as long as I did!!
31 Aug 18 UTC To be honest, I spent most of the early game probing trying to figure out what was what and trying to make sure Russia didn't get stomped by Austria and keeping you an France from working together. It wasn't until Italy moved west that France crumbled and the more important job for me once I got London was stopping Italy from a full blown break-out. With France dead, your death was assured, and that throw by Russia by essentially vacating the south-east to stop me ( I still don;t get the logic of that when I go through the replay because I had nothing like the confidence in my position that he seemed to have at the time) it opened the door to a long shot solo. When Austria just wouldn't let it go with Italy, and Italy threw it in frustration it was game over.
Without Valis' throw I wouldn't have drawn until an Eastern stalemate line was established and I might've still gotten there but it would've been much harder.

Thank you everyone for a good game, and this was my first solo in way too long - much appreciated :)
01 Sep 18 UTC I know it wasn't my best play either, but it was really unnecessary for Italy to just throw the game. It was obvious that Germany was going for the solo - and had a greater chance of soloing than I did with a sold Italy and Germany on the board. Yet in Spring 1915, instead of going after Germany, he went after me. In fact, Italy has been so grateful about the crumble of France that he never actually went full on Germany.

I'm never gonna understand Germany's early pressure on Vienna and Trieste
01 Sep 18 UTC It was to support Russia by drawing you off him
