Autumn, 1904: Draw? | |
Autumn, 1904: Are the tournament rankings decided by this game's standings, or do our points in this game get calculated in the same way as before and added to our existing points?
Autumn, 1904: This game standings only
Autumn, 1904: I'm going to be traveling over Father's Day, and if I have any pause left, can I get a pause until Monday morning?
Autumn, 1904: I've gotten Pause, but you may want to message the TD.
Autumn, 1904: *voted | |
Spring, 1905: Sorry, I was out for the weekend and then my phone died on return because of course it did. Seems we survived with time.
Spring, 1905: Do we still need a pause?
Spring, 1905: I am back. Looks like we did not pause. I probably need to wait to enter orders. I should have contacted a mod. Is everyone OK with just waiting until tomorrow night to enter orders? It's wait for orders. |
|
Spring, 1905: Okay with me.
Spring, 1905: It sounds like France doesn't need a pause as long as he doesn't have to enter orders until tonight, so I took down my pause vote. If that is incorrect, please let me know.
Spring, 1905: That's my understanding too.
Spring, 1905: While we're on the subject of pausing and not pausing, I have a request of my own. This game has lasted longer than my back-of-the-envelope math suggested it would at the start, and so it's coming up into two important activities for me: my wedding, this weekend, and my honeymoon, which begins next Tuesday. (Forgive me for being short on press this week!) I'm fine playing up until my honeymoon but it gets dicey there. I'm flying to Madagascar and I don't really expect to have internet in Madagascar reliably, but I will be able to get online every 12 or 24 hours. So, 3 options. 1. A pause for the 12 days of my honeymoon from June 25 to July 9 2. A pause on June 25 and again on July 8/9 when I'm flying, and I can play in between 3. I can get a sitter? What does the crowd prefer? |
|
Spring, 1905: Option one seems simplest, even if it is on the long side.
Spring, 1905: Especially since there's a big American holiday right in the middle of that chunk of time, now that I think of it.
Spring, 1905: Hey! One of my coworkers is doing the same thing! He got married a week ago, he will be taking 2 weeks for honeymoon next week. Congratz!
Spring, 1905: Hey, congrats on the wedding. I'm fine with any combination of pauses.
Spring, 1905: Do you guys work together?
Spring, 1905: I'd prefer pauses to a sitter. Either 2 or 1 is fine with me. This does set a bad precedent with respect to your future vacations and your bride's expectations for pauses. |
|
Spring, 1905: I feel like trying to play could make it a short marriage. Give her this one, I say.
Spring, 1905: Yes, she already does get annoyed when she sees the diplo map on my phone :p Thanks everyone. It sounds like the optimal solution is to pause for my honeymoon, so I'll vote to pause on Monday evening next week and I'll shout here when I'm flying back on the 8th so everyone has a warning before I try to unpause on the 9th. |
|
Autumn, 1905: If all goes according to plan, I'm getting on a plane around 7pm ET tomorrow and I will vote to pause then. Would appreciate it if everyone else could vote pause as soon as you see this, so that the game pauses when I put my vote in.
Spring, 1906: I have returned, and cast my unpause vote.
Spring, 1906: The honeymoon's over.
Spring, 1906: And no one died!
Spring, 1906: Boring | |
Spring, 1907: Hey folks - have a family emergency this week (unrelated to my recent change in marital status!). Can I get a pause until the weekend please?
Spring, 1907: A pause is fine with me.
Spring, 1907: I'm also going to need a pause Wed-Fri of next week :/
Spring, 1907: Moderator: (damian): You guys are killing me, as I’d love to wrap up this tournament. But so long as everyone consents you can continue to pause as needed.
Spring, 1907: Summer's hard, man.
Spring, 1907: I'm also down to draw. Momentum on this one has died.
Spring, 1907: They're killing me too.
Spring, 1907: I’m fine pausing or drawing.
Spring, 1907: I am back now. Thanks for agreeing to the pause everyone, the past couple days have been something. I would take a draw now, too, for the reasons others have mentioned. |
|
Spring, 1907: I am fine with a draw, if we can finish with this year so I can be tied.
Spring, 1907: Gonna need my pause once the phase goes through.
Whoops, voted without saying I'm back. I'm back.
I can accept ckr's terms for a draw...so let's do it..
Alright, we done? | |
Gg. Sorry for doubting you at the end, Stack. <3 Sorry I stabbed you Tom. <3 Sorry I killed you immediately again, Ezio. <3 Congrats, THM. Sorry I couldn't save you, Chosen. Ck, I hate playing with you because I think you're very boring. Pissing people off is often a good thing in these games, and I like you for the most part, so take that as you will. |

Boring is a strategy. | |
Does it ever solo? | |
I used to be boring, and there are a lot of classically "top" players I feel this way about, so I'm not totally passing judgement, but it seems like it just gets draws.
GG guys! To be honest, I was thrown way off after the first long pause, my head just wasn’t in the game after that.
I still don’t understand why you gave up on your attack on France chosen? Was it just persuasive press from the Frenchman that lead you to back off?
Unlikely | |
GG everyone. I wasn't even the only person eliminated.
