28 Nov 17 UTC Autumn, 1902: Well that's interesting!

I don't think I've ever seen an Austria pull south so hard.
28 Nov 17 UTC Autumn, 1902: A championship belt game may not have been the best place to test out new theories. I guess we'll see. :)
29 Nov 17 UTC Autumn, 1904: Sorry for the delay, busy day at work. I think you've got me, but we'll see how it goes.
29 Nov 17 UTC Autumn, 1905: No worries, life comes first.
29 Nov 17 UTC Autumn, 1905: You know what they say: disband my unit once, shame on me... ;)
30 Nov 17 UTC Autumn, 1905: Confession: I do love popping units.
30 Nov 17 UTC Spring, 1906: Shouldn't have told you that!
30 Nov 17 UTC Autumn, 1906: Looks like you had me tactically outplayed in the Med, but I had too much momentum up north.

I wonder how the board would've looked had you moved Tyr->Pie in Spring 1902. If you were able to shut me out of building fleets in Mars I think you'd've ended up with Mars and Iberia.

I don't think I'd ever move Mars->Pie in that board, since it seemed so clear to me that you'd take Ven with your fleet, and my army would have no chance at a build that year.

...What, after all, was the theory you were testing?
30 Nov 17 UTC Autumn, 1906: Austria only need two of [StP, Ber, Mun, Tun] to win, and only one to draw. I often fight pretty hard for Mun & Ber (plenty of my victories include Kie). So the theory was to lock down Tunis hard, and try to fight it out for either StP or one of the German centers. But when it looked like I could beat you to StP, I kinda failed to commit to either plan. And I also didn't build enough fleets. Or you built too many, maybe! (I don't often see 4 French fleets in the Med!)
30 Nov 17 UTC Spring, 1907: In theory you could've stalemated me away from Tunis with 3 fleets:
Tus hold Pie
Rom hold Tyrr
Ion hold (army in) Tunis

but I have no idea if that can be a tenable allocation of units early on.
30 Nov 17 UTC Spring, 1907: Army in Tunis? Armies in Tunis have always turned out to be a bad situation, as far as I can tell, for either my opponents or for me!
30 Nov 17 UTC Autumn, 1907: Well... yeah

It wouldn't let you push forward at all, but you could 100% guarantee that I can't steal Tunis.
30 Nov 17 UTC Autumn, 1907: True...
30 Nov 17 UTC Autumn, 1907: Irony: my theory was to hold Tunis, and here I am with force on StP (for now).
30 Nov 17 UTC Autumn, 1907: You surely have me beat. Well played
30 Nov 17 UTC Spring, 1908: you played well too.

gg
30 Nov 17 UTC Is there a noble way to end this without waiting until you truck NTH up to Barents in 1910? :) I mean, I want to keep my honor intact, but the win is foregone at this point...
30 Nov 17 UTC I'm double tapping StP this turn. If you decide to not support hold it we can end it now.
30 Nov 17 UTC That's honorable enough, I suppose, since that's the way it ends anyway :)
Well played, good game.
30 Nov 17 UTC good game
