Spring, 1999: There’s nothing stopping us from starting a new one as this one wraps up. I won’t be playing due to other time commitments, but I am happy to set it up.
Spring, 1999: I'm game | |
Spring, 1999: Same, maybe this time I'll have a bit better luck with my starting position and alliances
Spring, 1999: If the Polish/Turkish alliance is a thing, then WTF are you still doing helping them Italy? Odds are the one of Poland/Turkey/Italy/Britain has one of them as their bounty. Good luck in the end game! |
|
Spring, 1999: I'm personally convinced of Poland/Britain
Spring, 1999: I'm personally convinced of Poland/Britain
Spring, 1999: Which would make Turkey/Italy entirely possible/probable
Spring, 1999: i'm partners with spain.
Spring, 1999: ^ lies | |
Spring, 1999: I was definitely feeling the Germany/Spain pair
Spring, 1999: And since we're dead, I'll freely tell yall my partner was Ukraine
Spring, 1999: The rest becomes pretty easy to read after that
Spring, 1999: i'm partners with turkey.
Spring, 1999: Poland and Turkey threatened my life if I didn't help them!
Spring, 1999: i'm partners with russia too.
Spring, 1999: Britain has no partner since brexit
Spring, 1999: My partner is trans
Autumn, 1999: I'm also partnered with Siberia.
Autumn, 1999: my partner Italy never let me have Austria. I'm still mad at him about that :-)
Autumn, 1999: And Spring, 2000 brings the stab of Poland. Looking forward to it.
Autumn, 1999: I'm glad that I at least hung on longer than the majority of my competition
Autumn, 1999: Hmm, maybe not a majority, but more than I thought I would, at any rate
Autumn, 1999: i still haven't figured out how Egypt and I have survived for so long after being partnered. Talk about difficulty coordinating!
Autumn, 1999: I mean seriously, drop the ruse. The remaining power pairs are Italy/Turkey and Britain/Poland. And Italy/Turkey is gonna stab you hard. Italy and Turkey (to a lesser degree) are jealous because they failed to qualify for the World Cup, unlike you two. |
|
Autumn, 1999: wait -- turkey is partnered with italy? fuck. let me discuss with my partner poland and sort this out.
Autumn, 1999: Don't worry Britain and Poland. Italy and I will hold true to our commitments to our north-south alliance. Just go to sleep France, Russia, Spain, Egypt - it will all be over soon.
Autumn, 1999: Thanks Egypt for your looking forward to my being stabbed. I love you too man :-)
Autumn, 1999: Truth be told, Poland, I would preferred you stab them first years ago. Alas.
Autumn, 1999: I'm getting a headache
Autumn, 1999: That's understandable
Autumn, 1999: Egypt - we didn't really get our act together communication wise -- your return messages to me must have been intercepted and burnt by the Turks. Italy - I'd blame the Brits for causing all your headaches - he seems to be partners with everyone on the board! |
|
Autumn, 1999: i'll partner with anyone for a good time
Autumn, 1999: lol - (that's how politicians get into trouble)
Well, well, well. Bladerunners "left". Banhammer? |
|
Or did he CD in retreats and builds?
Well, that sux | |
Why now why not when he was attacking me
Well, my partner bailed, which isn't particularly sporting since he had a build to make somewhere. Given Egypt's elimination as a foregone conclusion and that this is an unranked game, how about we just draw it here? Maybe England and Italy would have broken the four-way alliance to try to win it themselves (England seems to want to try that), maybe not, but that's not particularly impressive when Poland is absent.
I would assume that Great Britain & Italy and Poland & Turkey have eliminated their bounties. If so, then those two pairs would win in a draw because my bounty is still alive--though I'm about to deliver the death blow.
My bounty is dead. Spain.
My Draw is entered. Sad that Poland left. Congrats Egypt, lol!
Thanks, Braitin, for being an absolute perfect partner. I thoroughly enjoyed our strategic discussions throughout the game. Thanks also to Turkey who displayed the same good communication skills and was a trustworthy ally. |
|
agreed, Italy, a great match and a great team. To everyone else, thanks that was fun. Spain and France, I love and respect you both as players! Germany too, and of course Russia. Did I tangle with anyone else? |
|
GG | |
GG. I win (the booby prize)! My bounty was Italy. |
|
If some of you want to do Pairs 3, I can set it up. I don't have time to play over the holidays.
And my ally was Russia. Nice working with you.
good working with you Jeff.
FYI - my bounty was Egypt, so I was on my way there. Technically, I think Britain/Italy get the tiebreaker for the win, but if my partner Bladerunners (Poland) had not disappeared, I think Egypt would have been eliminated and we would have been in a full tie for the draw with a stalemate situation.
I'd like to do another Pairs game, but maybe best to wait for the new year since the holidays can be disruptive. |
