15 Aug 17 UTC Spring, 1901: Thanks for joining everyone. Good luck.
23 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1903: Oh man I'm dunzo
03 Sep 17 UTC Autumn, 1906: Sorry for the slow play. We've had a mandatory fire evacuation in LA the last few days. I'm not worried, but my access to things has been inconsistent.
03 Sep 17 UTC Autumn, 1906: Looks horrendous on the news. Our thoughts are with you guys over there.
04 Sep 17 UTC I guess a 3 way draw is not the goal.
05 Sep 17 UTC Thanks for the game folks. 3 way or 4 way is not a big deal for me as this is sum of squares. I mentioned to Russia it's strange how unpopular the Italo-Russian alliance is given it should work well as there is relatively little conflict as each nation has ways it can expand other than in to each other.
05 Sep 17 UTC Good game. Thanks for the draw.
05 Sep 17 UTC I actually put my draw up a few hours prior to the turn cut. And was grateful for it when I saw a slew of forces coming my way!
05 Sep 17 UTC @Italy. It was a good decision on your part. I was trying to figure out how to look passive while snaking 6 more SCs. Good fences, neighbors, what not on your part.
05 Sep 17 UTC Thanks all. My first game after a six year gap, so abit rusty. But a friendly (with knives) re-introduction. Thanks.
05 Sep 17 UTC So, who screwed who in the west? Germany has a sea lion, France says no we don't, England says Germany told me France was going English Channel, etc.

05 Sep 17 UTC Germany really did convince me that France was going to the English Channel and was planning an early assault on me. That was what convinced me to target France initially. If I had wanted to attack France and not expected France to enter the English Channel, I would have moved the army in Liverpool to Wales rather than York in Spring 1901. Since I expected the move to the Channel to bounce, I figured I had to move the army to York to be available for convoy.

Once I actually advanced to the Channel, I realized Germany had duped me, but I had already invited France's anger by entering the Channel. So, at the moment, it seemed the best thing to do was to attempt to carry on the attack against France.

Once France managed to capture Munich in 1902, I realized that the English-German assault on France was not likely to end in success. Plus, Germany had not exactly earned my undying devotion by tricking me in the first place. So I stabbed Germany in Holland and attempted to make peace with France.

Unfortunately, it was something of an uneasy and forced truce and neither of us fully trusted each other, as evidenced by our eventual mutual stab.

Honestly, I am relieved to have survived for a draw. I never had a particularly strong alliance with anyone and was constantly struggling to stay in everyone's good graces to avoid attack. I don't like being in a position where I have to try to keep everyone happy, but that is how the majority of this game felt.
06 Sep 17 UTC To be fair, I did think France was going to move into the channel.
06 Sep 17 UTC Or at least thought it was a possibility.
06 Sep 17 UTC I was planning on working with France in the beginning and was planning a sea lion but France wanted me to help him into Belgium and I never like giving France Belgium.
