Good game, thanks for playing. I think there were several turns there where if Austria and Turkey had stood down from defending against each other, they could have formed a stalemate line and blocked me from winning. In order to win, England needs all the centers on the north and west, plus either Tunis, Warsaw, or Moscow. Once I had Tunis, it was going to be difficult or impossible to take it back from me, so the best chance you had of preventing me from winning was to take Munich on the northern side of the stalemate line and never let go of it. Probably you would have been able to defend warsaw and moscow, and the game would have ended in a draw between me and whoever was left alive in the south (austria and turkey, and potentially someone with 1 unit left who is needed to form the line). But Austria took munich too late - I had already convoyed so many armies that I was able to take it back. Really I think Austria was just 1 turn too late, and I probably wouldn't have won if Austria and Turkey had backed down from defending against each other and just worked together to stop me from winning. It's very very hard to go a solo win in this game if the other players stop you, so even though Russia and France were destroyed very early on, I still would have struggled to win if Austria and Turkey had cooperated. Italy was doing fine until he got horribly out of position against Austria and got completely destroyed all in 1 turn. |

I would like everyone to try to learn that from playing this game, that at some point one player has too many points and that player should become "public enemy number one" that everyone tries to attack. If not, infighting among the weaker players will lead to a solo win where everyone else loses. | |
Ya I made a mistake in end game, I should have moved my attention towards getting Tunis back and controlling the tyrr instead of sending the fleet to the eastern med and beating up turkey. Also made a miscalculation with how many armies i needed to hold Munich. If I was able to crack turkey one turn earlier I would have been in much better shape for the solo win but i should have focused on getting the draw after I was delayed by Italy. |

Good analysis, overall a much closer game than it looked from the last turn. Whole time I thought you were a big solo threat, since Austria has a clear path to solo victory if not destroyed right off the bat Turkey defended harder than Germany which tipped the difference as you described |
