04 Nov 16 UTC Yes, I benefited from the few minor mistakes that y'all mentioned. Also the fact that France was able to take over the English home SCs early put England in a very tricky position the rest of the game. Then when France missed that turn last year, it effectively ended the game... although I was on the verge of breaking through by then anyway; I would've just needed another 2-3 years to do it.
