30 Sep 16 UTC Spring, 1: well at least Carthage had Hannibal which almost conquered me. But Rome survived.
30 Sep 16 UTC Spring, 1: and then we defeated you. ha, ha, ha, ha
30 Sep 16 UTC Spring, 1: but i doubt that i will be able to do that in this game because i like playing as charthage and i think it is the best country on the bord
30 Sep 16 UTC Spring, 1: Yeah it has a nice position, but two strong neighbors
30 Sep 16 UTC Autumn, 1: Egypt gets the short end of the stick in my opinion
30 Sep 16 UTC Autumn, 1: i agree
01 Oct 16 UTC Autumn, 1: For builds especially make sure to click ready once moves are inputted. We have 3 day cycles to talk to each other when we dont do builds
01 Oct 16 UTC Autumn, 1: *squints at Greece*
04 Oct 16 UTC Spring, 2: seriously bro hit ready
24 Oct 16 UTC Autumn, 4: i am going to be gone Friday though Saturday could we pause for those days?
24 Oct 16 UTC Autumn, 4: actually friday though sunday
24 Oct 16 UTC Autumn, 4: ok
28 Oct 16 UTC Spring, 5: ok, can we puase now?
28 Oct 16 UTC Spring, 5: already voted
28 Oct 16 UTC Spring, 5: Same. Waiting on Greece and Persia
30 Oct 16 UTC Spring, 5: i am back
01 Nov 16 UTC Spring, 5: everyone vote unpuase please.
06 Nov 16 UTC Autumn, 5: with both Persia and Egypt not putting in orders we need to draw this game
07 Nov 16 UTC Autumn, 5: Want to draw it after we defeat them both? Why give them their points back if they don't participate? Draw it after because it would be unfair to Rome to continue
08 Nov 16 UTC Autumn, 5: i think we should draw right now because Persia is just worth 4 points and everyone else gets back there stuff except for Greece who will get 40.
15 Nov 16 UTC Spring, 6: once Egypt is dead shuild we draw
?
15 Nov 16 UTC Spring, 6: or maybe we could all pause the game until Egypt is replaced?
15 Nov 16 UTC Spring, 6: Hey, took over for Egypt. So what's the word?
16 Nov 16 UTC Spring, 6: thanks
16 Nov 16 UTC Spring, 6: is that the word?
16 Nov 16 UTC Spring, 6: i still think the word is draw but no one else agrees with me
16 Nov 16 UTC Spring, 6: Ill draw when Persia dies if you all agree to it as well, as long as Rome and I gain points from the draw
16 Nov 16 UTC Spring, 6: i am ok with that.
22 Nov 16 UTC Autumn, 6: Sorry guys my cousin was over and I couldnt get in in time to make a move. Thats on me
13 Dec 16 UTC Autumn, 8: i agree with rome; Draw!
26 Dec 16 UTC Autumn, 9: Merry Christmas guys!!!!!
04 Jan 17 UTC Spring, 10: I want this game to end. Hurry up Rome, stab Carthage and take the win.
08 Jan 17 UTC Autumn, 10: 2 vs 3:
Greece + Egypt vs Rome + Carthage + Persia
?
08 Jan 17 UTC Autumn, 10: Pretty dumb if that's the case.
08 Jan 17 UTC Autumn, 10: You know what I love about Diplomacy? It's all about the alliances you make. Greece had early power in this game, I stabbed Rome in the back and we were struggling while Egypt invaded me. But then we trusted each other and were able to turn a 2-front losing war into a 1-front winning war on each side. That's what makes diplomacy great. You can be dominating and lose because you can't get people on your side
08 Jan 17 UTC Autumn, 10: Persia knows his only shot of staying alive is drawing with Rome and I. He could help you, but you don't have the power to take on the Carthaginian-Roman alliance any more. Once two allied powers own more than 50% of the SCs the game's over, unless you turn them against each other. But I know if we get turned against each other it leaves the path for victory open to our enemies, so I don't want that to happen, and I assume Rome doesn't either.

After all, it was Rome who had the first Pyrrhic victory....

But as Cato the Elder would say,

Ceterum censeo Carthaginum esse delandem.
08 Jan 17 UTC Autumn, 10: It is about alliances. But the end goal should be victory. Not a three way draw.

Unfortunately I wasn't there when Egypt was dominating. I convinced Greece to back off. But ultimately I was going to lose the with you. I could of lasted slightly longer if I hadn't missed a turn but it wouldn't have mattered much.

Rome is making a decision to draw when victory was easily in his grasp.
08 Jan 17 UTC Autumn, 10: Is it though? If it looks like Rome is going for victory I can sabotage him. He is guaranteed points if he works with me, but risks losing everything if he doesn't. Fighting a 2-front war is what killed Greece and would have killed both him and I earlier in the game.
08 Jan 17 UTC Autumn, 10: He needs 4 more SCs to win.

Crete would have been easy to get.
Sinope the following year.
If he had moved his armies to Lusitnania and Tarraco in the spring like I told him to as well as a fleet to Ligurian he would have got Saguntum immediately and a second SC the following year. (If Berber Sea blocks Beleares, the Saguntum army moves to Mauretania and then gets Cirta, if Berber Sea blocks Mauretania then Ligurian takes Beleares)

That would have been game.
16 Jan 17 UTC Spring, 11: come on Carthage ready up. it is very childish to just sit there and not ready up because your mad at the out come of the game.
16 Jan 17 UTC Spring, 11: Im not, Im talking with other people. I also have had a very busy last few days
16 Jan 17 UTC ok, that is ok then. i just figured you dont have to talk about how you are going to retreat from one place or not
17 Jan 17 UTC I was looking over my options in the time I had. Planning ahead. Stuff like that. I have midterms this week so I wont be on that much
17 Jan 17 UTC oh, well good luck on mid-terms, although, it seems a little late sense it is after Christmas.
17 Jan 17 UTC Perhaps we should just draw so exams can be taken stress free
