18 Mar 16 UTC Spring, 1901: Good Luck All
18 Mar 16 UTC Spring, 1901: Damn this is why I was trying to wait as long as possible, but I have a final today in about 3 hours, so I won't be able to talk for roughly 6. Please send messages and I'll get back ASAP! Good luck everyone.
18 Mar 16 UTC Spring, 1901: I'm trying to cram opening press in during my break at work, so it won't be quite as long an essay as I'm somewhat known for, sorry about that! Good luck everyone :)
19 Mar 16 UTC Spring, 1901: Good luck All!
25 Mar 16 UTC Spring, 1903: Moderator: (Valis2501): Hey everyone this game is paused due to a player absence and will resume on the 29th.
26 Mar 16 UTC Spring, 1903: If we could extend the pause till the end of the weekend, I would appreciate it. Was on a mini-vacation (which is why i havent been good about answering press)
27 Mar 16 UTC Spring, 1903: I am going to be on holiday this coming week, I should be able to get on I think but that's till Saturday 5th. Just letting you know in case I don't respond in time
30 Mar 16 UTC Spring, 1903: Update, only have sporadic free wifi. Will try to check as juch as possible but please forgive press spelling as have tobuse my tablet
31 Mar 16 UTC Spring, 1903: Well shit. I didn't realise this had actually got unpaused - I thought it was being extended
16 Apr 16 UTC Spring, 1907: Hey everyone, I'm away for the weekend and unfortunately need a pause. I asked Valis but in case he doesn't read my message on time could you please vote pause??
16 Apr 16 UTC Spring, 1907: Moderator: (Valis2501): Game paused by player request
19 Apr 16 UTC Spring, 1907: I am back and ready to unpause, thanks for patience !
26 Apr 16 UTC Autumn, 1908: good luck all
27 Apr 16 UTC Autumn, 1908: Thanks but I don't think I need it i'm going to solo obviously ;)
29 Apr 16 UTC Autumn, 1909: All out war on Austria now. Hopefully, england, germany, and italy can work together.
30 Apr 16 UTC Autumn, 1909: (Go Austria)
30 Apr 16 UTC Autumn, 1909: All out war! Now wait a second...can't we work something out? Just a few more dots and I promise I'll stop!
01 May 16 UTC Autumn, 1909: I may be mistaken... but I do believe Austria has won. And theres nothing you guys can do about it
01 May 16 UTC Autumn, 1909: ^ This is correct. I was a bit surprised to see how much Italy put on the line to trust Austria.
01 May 16 UTC Autumn, 1909: actually, the game might draw, pending mistakes that could be made on either side.
01 May 16 UTC Autumn, 1909: Oh so there's perfect moves Austria can make to win? Pressure is on!
02 May 16 UTC Spring, 1910: Moderator: (Valis2501): Hi everyone. I hope you're having a lovely time. My deepest apologies but there was a mistake at game creation; everyone signed up for Hidden Draw Votes and it was not enabled. I've fixed it. Thanks for your patience.
02 May 16 UTC Spring, 1910: In light of the revised rule, I've voted to draw.
02 May 16 UTC Spring, 1910: well there are perfect moves that give austria a chance to win. the last center will be an outguessing game.
02 May 16 UTC Spring, 1910: Please let me know when I make an "imperfect" move. (Not counting ones I've already made.) I hope no one minds if I hold the retreat until ~11 tonight so turns go later in the evening and I don't have to look during work.
04 May 16 UTC Autumn, 1910: you've done a perfect move...
04 May 16 UTC Autumn, 1910: :D I'm not sure if I should root for you of not. I mean I lose 1000 points in the tourney, but this is so exciting
06 May 16 UTC England & Germany, have you guys drawn?
06 May 16 UTC I can't see a path to win so I'm putting my draw vote in now. Thank you all for a good game and good luck to all in round three.
06 May 16 UTC Thanks, it's been a pleasure and congrats Austria, that was some really great game!
06 May 16 UTC Ooh, good game. I think there was a 50/50 there :P
06 May 16 UTC Good game all. Ah out me through the ringer. :)
06 May 16 UTC yeah me next move would have been
Piedmont > Tus
Venice > Pied
Apulia sup move Gre > Nap
Alb and Aeg sup hold Ionian
Ionian convoys.

As long as that bounce in Piedmont happened, that would have been a win
06 May 16 UTC yeah pretty sure Austria could've taken Rome and Naples but still a good showing well played
06 May 16 UTC gg though, that was really good play.
06 May 16 UTC That would not have won, though. Venice had to be the last attack on Rome. In the meantime Naples > Apu, Rome>Nap, Tyrr sea supp rome>naples. The supported move rome to Naples would bounce the convoy and nothing moves. With W Med headed for GoL he would force Marseilles into Piedmont(or at least force Ven to support forever), otherwise down goes Munich, then Berlin...
It was fun. Thanks everyone.
06 May 16 UTC piedmont is in tuscany though. Ven supp Tus > Rome. and then do the convoy again in the fall supported by apulia. one of them has to go through.

the following year, you get get rome and naples because:

you have 4 units units around rome (if you took naples the previous year)

you have 3 units around Naples (if you took Rome the previous year)
06 May 16 UTC The problem though, even with Piedmont in tuscany, I would have had to take Naples first, which I couldn't do. If I took Rome first as you say, on that turn where Venice supported Tus>Rome, Marseilles moves to Piedmont. The next turn, where I'm then taking Naples, Piedmont taps Tyrolia, cutting support of Munich. Silesia would then have had to support Munich instead of Berlin. Would England have seen that coming and used Kiel against Berlin instead of Munich? I think he would have, but we'll never know. I guess that was the 50:50 guess!
I think that's correct...if not I tossed away the win!
06 May 16 UTC Pretty much. When I said it was a 50/50 I was being quite literal :p
06 May 16 UTC ahh. well your move this turn sorta made it a 50/50. I would've rushed to tuscany this turn with venice and bounced with tyrolia, moving vienna into trieste. Anyways, good game.
