29 Oct 15 UTC Congrats Yaleunc! Nicely played. I confess I was really enjoying the skirmishing with England and France, but too bad I couldn't seal the deal fast enough to deal with you.
29 Oct 15 UTC :-(
Congrats Y.
29 Oct 15 UTC Thx Ogion. I feel a little bad about this one as 2WL's NMR did help me out a fair amount. On the other hand I was still stoppable a few turns ago until 2WL guessed wrong and let me get into Baltic Sea.
29 Oct 15 UTC I don't think the NMRs had as much of an effect as allowing you into the Baltic Sea. That was the straw that broke my stalemate line and I knew I was finished as soon as I saw that retreat.
29 Oct 15 UTC There was no way to recover from that.
29 Oct 15 UTC Agreed. What the NMR did was take me from slightly behind you to slightly ahead of you, but still stoppable if you could keep me out of Den and Baltic Sea.
29 Oct 15 UTC Yep, getting behind the line was big. What was up with the NMRs? That doesn't seem at all like you, 2WL
29 Oct 15 UTC gg :)
29 Oct 15 UTC I guess I should take this opportunity...

It's great to be playing with all of you. I really don't belong in this tournament - I'm still not great at gunboat and I only got in because a bunch of people with far higher GR were kicked out on RR grounds - but I'm certainly enjoying it and I'm hoping that my play is not annoying you all too much.

One of the great advantages of being in a game with so many highly ranked GB players is that I can ask for advice, I guess. Early on, I thought this game was going pretty well - taking Bul in 1902 seemed to be a good step forward, but I kept getting knocked back, then advancing a bit, then getting knocked back again... Never really making any progress. Is there anything I could have done to make the outcome better for me? What would you have done in my place?
29 Oct 15 UTC Boy, looking back I think you did a great job but got outmaneuvered in a couple of places. I imagine the 20/20 hindsight answer would be to have helped Turkey against Russia to cement that relationship, because without it you collapsed in the face of the RT while Italy was off playing around in France. Frankly, it was impressive you held out as long as you did. Sometimes, as they say, the bear gets you. Especially if you're playing Austria
29 Oct 15 UTC Wow, i am glad somebody remembers that France was also playing in this game. I got picked at from every side :(.

Congrats Yaleunc. I have to confess i did not follow the game after you got rid of me, but it looks like it paid of for you to go west, while i disliked you because of it :)

@ Captainmeme, i didnt have the impression there were weaker players in the group. So if there is a difference, its not that big. Moves that would be brilliant in some game, are just stupid in other ones, just because your opponent is thinking differently.
29 Oct 15 UTC Despite getting picked on from every side, you sure held one for an annoyingly long time. I swear you're part cockroach. Even a nuclear war can get rid of you!

29 Oct 15 UTC Hahaha :).
29 Oct 15 UTC I could give a reason for the NMRs, but it honestly doesn't matter because either way its my own fault. I don't think it taints the outcome of the game, although my poor play certainly should in my own mind. Getting that fleet into Kiel was a total fluke. There was so much back and forth in around Kiel that something was bound to crack.
