29 Jan 10 UTC Autumn, 1912: This player will very soon need a pause on this game because I, the sitter, will go out on vacation and he'll be still with limited internet access.
29 Jan 10 UTC Autumn, 1912: Until when is the pause needed?
29 Jan 10 UTC Autumn, 1912: That should be asked to the account owner, but surely not longer than until Feb 13.
29 Jan 10 UTC Autumn, 1912: No I am not prepared to wait 2 weeks. For a 24 hour game that is not acceptable. Many of my points are tied up in this game. He needs to find another sitter
29 Jan 10 UTC Autumn, 1912: That's not very gentlemanly, although I understand your side of the argument. The account owner will still be around, but the "24 hour" phase side is exactly the problem: he's currently able to get internet access only once every couple of days.
29 Jan 10 UTC Autumn, 1912: I would like a proper end to the game - its been a good one. I still think another sitter is the answer. But I will agree to asking the mods for 2 day phases until 13 Feb as long as we come to a gentlemen's agreement to finalise immediately on single retreats / builds if no Diplomacy is required.
30 Jan 10 UTC Spring, 1913: Hi, this is the original player and account owner. I am out of town and can´t acces the game everyday until I am back, on Feb 15th. I hope this game will have ended now, when my sitter are going into vacation.
I still think this game will not end any way different then a 3-way draw, but if England want to take his chances I hope he can grant me this pause.
30 Jan 10 UTC Spring, 1913: Can you not do 2 day phases or find a sitter?
30 Jan 10 UTC Spring, 1913: It´s hard to find another sitter in such a hurry. But a 2-day turn I can deal, but how are we changing this? The GMs can do that?
30 Jan 10 UTC Spring, 1913: I think so if we all agree on this Global board - also need Germany's approval here. Can I ask that you finalise on builds, retreats etc though - there can't be much Diplomacy on those.

30 Jan 10 UTC Spring, 1913: If I can get on Internet, I will finalize my moves as soon as posible.
30 Jan 10 UTC Spring, 1913: Will try to get back tomorrow to see what happens, but probably will access diplomacy only on monday.
31 Jan 10 UTC Spring, 1913: Well, Germany NMR, probably because he thought the game will be paused. I guess you can win this game now England, but it won´t be a fair win.
31 Jan 10 UTC Spring, 1913: I don't agree. We have had this conversation on the Global board over 2 days. I also wrote to Germany on his own board asking for his agreement for 2 day phases and it hasn't come, even though he has put in a retreat.

In any case, I am way past the stalemate line in the Med.
03 Feb 10 UTC Autumn, 1913: Hope you were proud of winning this way England.
03 Feb 10 UTC Autumn, 1913: But I really expected more of a game called Gentlemen´s Diplomacy.
03 Feb 10 UTC Autumn, 1913: I just don't understand why Germany didn't enter into a conversation about this. As the record shows, I was prepared to move to 2 day phases to accomodate you. But it needed all of us to agree to it on the Global chatboard.

Of course, this is not the way I would have wanted the game to end, but being in Nap, Rom and Tun, I think the game was over anyway, so Germany just decided to give up.
03 Feb 10 UTC Autumn, 1913: Yes, I saw this game was doomed so I stopped watching it.
04 Feb 10 UTC Spring, 1914: It´s really a bad choice by both of you. It won´t have killed you to concede a 2 weeks pause.
