01 Sep 14 UTC Spring, 1901: So Justin A., what supply center do you you want for your birthday?
09 Sep 14 UTC Autumn, 1901: John, I know you're bitter about not getting any armies this turn, but you should at least accept this so that we can move on to the next turn
09 Sep 14 UTC Autumn, 1901: John, I know you're bitter about not getting any armies this turn, but you should at least accept this so that we can move on to the next turn
13 Sep 14 UTC Spring, 1902: Gents, may I say how happy I am to see that each time I'm on here, most of you have also been on in the last 4-5 hours. thank you for mutually allowing this game to take over your life as well. Gutentag!
21 Sep 14 UTC Autumn, 1902: This is an appeal to all of Europe. Austrian aggression in the Balkans CANNOT stand! ATTACK GREG! I'm talking an all out assault. Trust me, we will all be better off without him on the board.
22 Sep 14 UTC Autumn, 1902: Sorry you feel that way Jacob. No hard feelings. I was only responding to a Juggernaut sitting on my border. I think you would respond the same way if Russia and Turkey showed zero aggression in the early turns. You made your bed.
24 Sep 14 UTC Autumn, 1902: Is Sam Dead?
25 Sep 14 UTC Autumn, 1902: I'm sure he's just distracted by a Bolshevik revolution
25 Sep 14 UTC Autumn, 1902: Someone should go and check his apartment.
25 Sep 14 UTC Spring, 1903: Sorry guys!!! Busy couple of weeks!
26 Sep 14 UTC Spring, 1903: We have stood strong against the Eastern Juggernaut, however we have a western juggernaut brewing with England and France now in bed together. Be of no assistance to this alliance and in the meantime I will try to hold my borders. But, beware the Western Juggernaut.
13 Oct 14 UTC Spring, 1904: Ok, so I'll spend my last days terrorizing the countries I border for the adventure of it unless you can convince me to do otherwise
13 Oct 14 UTC Spring, 1904: I hate this game.
26 Oct 14 UTC Autumn, 1904: I realize I made Greg's 4 supply center lead possible, to a certain extent. But what you don't know is that Greg and I, per our alliance, made an agreement to annihilate one another if either of us stabbed the other before our official agreement was through. So for those of you interested in parity in this game, join me in battling our leader and soon to be master of Europe, Greg. Per our agreement, I am contractually obligated to attack him. So, everyone, please be sure to benefit from my suicide attacks.
26 Oct 14 UTC Autumn, 1904: Can we all agree that it was John's idea to ruin our friendship in this way?
26 Oct 14 UTC Autumn, 1904: So I'm confused about belgium. I controlled it last turn. I moved out but nobody moved into it. Why is it under french control and not mine. I think this is a game glitch that I should contact the admin about but I wanted to get your guy's thoughts prior to contacting them.
26 Oct 14 UTC Autumn, 1904: At least I didn't threaten to never trust you again (referring to life outside the game), Greg. Only one of us went there :)
26 Oct 14 UTC Autumn, 1904: Hey Justin,

The rules state that you must hold a supply center at the end of the fall for it to go under your control. You moved off before you officially took control. Bummer.
27 Oct 14 UTC Spring, 1905: Hey John, Charity wants to know if she and Sarah can still be friends....
27 Oct 14 UTC Spring, 1905: In my head "you are so dumb for real"
31 Oct 14 UTC Spring, 1905: I wanted to throw this out there as an option. Not sure if there are any takers, but I wanted to make sure it was on the table.
03 Nov 14 UTC Autumn, 1905: Hey Greg, no love lost. I was trying to rally the board against you. And I'm a taker for agreeing to the draw... 7 day turns seem too long in hindsight. But, of course, I'm down for continuing to play if that's what people want to do.
04 Nov 14 UTC Autumn, 1905: Hey John, I am willing to keep playing too. I don't want it to seem like I am giving up when the board started to sway against me. I was only offering draw as an option if people were interested. As long as everyone is willing, I am down to keep going.
04 Nov 14 UTC Autumn, 1905: So there's no way to change the phase length? I could go either way. Laura would probably like to hear me talk about something other than diplomacy, but then again, I'd have to find something to talk about other than diplomacy.

Census?
04 Nov 14 UTC Autumn, 1905: I've been going back and forth for weeks deciding whether to just degauss from this game or not, because it's a really engrossing but mostly unhealthy addiction thus far. I'm reluctantly open to speeding the phase length because I'm worried I'll spend even more time on the game, but it would make it end faster...I Support a draw now or shortening phase length.
04 Nov 14 UTC Autumn, 1905: I like the phase length, so I am willing to keep going as is.
06 Nov 14 UTC Autumn, 1905: Looks like we're on for another round guys! Ready those moves when you can : )
08 Nov 14 UTC Autumn, 1905: From John to Me....

Hey Greg,

I'm in Chi-town, by the way! Ha. I missed my connection to Minneapolis for a conference last night and stayed at a hotel near Midway. Headed to Minn now.

Any chance we can patch things up in Italy? I always was a faithful ally. The olive branch I can extend here is to offer the following intel-

As of right now:
Jacob is supporting my attack from Greece into Bulgaria
Jacob is also supporting Sam's attack from Moscow into Sev

He decided those were the only "mostly" sure ways he could cut at your expansion, with more planned for next year.

Can we patch things up? I do believe that I'm more valuable to you as an ally rather than victim. Plus, I'll again give you the space to move against Germany. The entire board is coming to me to discuss your demise, so I know nearly all movements of your neighbors.

Cheers,
John

Ps- I'll only be able to check the game sporadically before the move shifts tomorrow. Good luck!
Pps- Al Green's "Let's Stay Together" is playing in my mind.
08 Nov 14 UTC Autumn, 1905: Is anyone interested in helping me take him down?
08 Nov 14 UTC Autumn, 1905: I will help them into wherever they want to go that John is...
08 Nov 14 UTC Autumn, 1905: I will help them into wherever they want to go that John is...
08 Nov 14 UTC Autumn, 1905: Greg et al,

I saw this move coming and reached out to both Jacob and J$ letting them know a) what I did (that is reach out to you) and b) make sure they understood that I was trying to lull you into an agreement. I'm glad they can now read every word of the message.

Also, "Let's Stay Together" is a fantastic song that should not be repurposed in attempts to slander your opponents. Poor form.

Happy trails!
John
08 Nov 14 UTC Autumn, 1905: It seems that we agree on "Let's Stay Together". It should not be used in attempts to slander your opponents...or trick them....it is poor form
08 Nov 14 UTC Autumn, 1905: That's true! Agreed. My apologies, Al.
16 Nov 14 UTC Autumn, 1906: I'm playing Diplomacy with friends today. It wasn't even my idea.

This game is more taxing than fantasy football, though Sarah says she prefers this over fantasy. She's also looking forward to when this game finishes. In April.

Enjoy Sunday, folks!
16 Nov 14 UTC Autumn, 1906: I recognize I may be the first player eliminated. But I'll still help spur the game along. April is my max, though.
21 Nov 14 UTC Spring, 1907: My claim to Ruhr will win me this game. I can feel it.
28 Nov 14 UTC Autumn, 1907: How did Jim get to be such a juggernaut?
28 Nov 14 UTC Autumn, 1907: Sorry, big thumbs. Please disregard.
28 Nov 14 UTC Spring, 1908: Well, I helped him each step of the way to get to this point, and how does he show his thanks on THANKSGIVING. Steal 3 of my supply centers. It's sad the world we live in. I'll work on taking them back guys. Sorry for letting him get so big so fast. Down with ENGLAND!!!!
29 Nov 14 UTC Spring, 1908: Hey homes thanksgiving. Actually I looked at te moves on the board from last tound and you didn t actually help me into Marseilles or Russia like you said you would soooooooo my preemptive strike was just a bit bigger. Welcome to a quagmire! Excited to go up agains such a tactician.
02 Dec 14 UTC Autumn, 1908: Free at last! Free at last!

See you suckers later.
03 Dec 14 UTC Spring, 1909: "Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose." Good game, Greg!
10 Dec 14 UTC Autumn, 1910: Thanks guys, it was fun
11 Dec 14 UTC Autumn, 1910: Nothing and that's all that bobby left me.
11 Dec 14 UTC Spring, 1911: I feel like I'm going streaking in Belgium. No clothes, no plans... What could be better?
25 Dec 14 UTC Autumn, 1912: Good game, gents! A pleasure.
10 Jan 15 UTC Autumn, 1914: Should we try to wrap this up this week? I think it will either be a draw or I'll get that last center in a couple of turns
10 Jan 15 UTC Autumn, 1914: I have a standing vote for a draw. I think we are at a three-way stale mate. Sam and I are fully aligned and have devoted all of our resources to fighting you. Lets call it a game...
11 Jan 15 UTC Autumn, 1914: I'm one away! I'm interested in seeing it out :).
