02 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1901: I wonder if Russia knows they have to hit the "Ready" button when they're ready.
02 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1901: You mean France?
03 Jul 14 UTC Spring, 1902: My sincerest apologies; I thought that I had.
05 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1902: Russia! What the hell?
07 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1902: The great Siberian Bear slumbers.
07 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1902: Is there a greater crime in war or kingship than to stand by while foreign powers conquer your lands and subdue your people? If there is, it must surely be to be complicit in such usurpations. Should this war end with any semblance of law or civilization left on this continent, then all right-thinking men should hasten to see the Czar dangling at the end of a rope for the atrocities he has committed against his people and the peace of Europe.
09 Jul 14 UTC Spring, 1903: Is the Bear awakening?
09 Jul 14 UTC Spring, 1903: Italy?
09 Jul 14 UTC Spring, 1903: Let us not badger Italy. We are allocated a time frame in which to submit our moves, let Italy make the use of it he pleases.
09 Jul 14 UTC Spring, 1903: Austria, either. (Note the grey checkmarks vs the green ones.)
11 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1903: Racers, be sure that you're "Ready", and not just "Saved". :)
12 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1903: Ah, a nicer UI here: http://www.backstabbr.com/
12 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1903: Nice. Next time. :)
18 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1904: Is there a legal Russian retreat?
18 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1904: Is there a legal Russian retreat?
18 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1904: nope
28 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1906: I know it's a point that Germany has driven into the ground, but the *ready button*, Italy, the *ready button*.
28 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1906: Suriuslay
28 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1906: Somebody complain on the FB group?
28 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1906: I wasn't ready, and time wasn't up. Not sure what else to say other than, "Don't join games with 2 day deadlines if your patience only extends to 18 hours."
29 Jul 14 UTC Autumn, 1906: Aaoooo!
01 Aug 14 UTC Autumn, 1907: A pleasure playing with you all. Congratulations to all who remain in the game. Best of luck, and may all of you who attacked me suffer paper cuts.
01 Aug 14 UTC Autumn, 1907: You put up an absolutely spirited defense in the face of two determined allies, prolonging the fight by years. My hat is off to you.
01 Aug 14 UTC Autumn, 1907: And so, too, does the French nation pass from the earth!
01 Aug 14 UTC Autumn, 1907: Oh, I guess not.
02 Aug 14 UTC Spring, 1908: You still have a chip and a chair.
06 Aug 14 UTC Autumn, 1908: Guess you didn't want the chair.
06 Aug 14 UTC Spring, 1909: Adieu, tout le monde. Adieu!
11 Aug 14 UTC Autumn, 1909: Well, that's pretty much it for me, then.
11 Aug 14 UTC Autumn, 1909: To the people of Europe,

War has ravaged the continent continuously since the turn of the century, and all the peoples of Europe long for peace. This has been impossible for so long because of the acts of a few leaders, who traded the safety and security of their own citizens and of their neighbors’ for the chance to expand their power and dominate Europe. The full truth may not be known for quite some time, as we investigate the circumstances under which, for instance, the once great Czar of Russia abdicated his position and his sacred responsibility to his own people. There is great reason to believe that treason from within Russia, espionage from without, and murder may have led to a Russian collapse that coincided so perfectly with German imperial expansion, and that similar causes might account for the complete capitulation of France in the face of German aggression. It is our duty as civilized people to seek the truth and hold the guilty responsible, as we feel great kinship and affection for the French and Russian people, as we do for all the peoples of Europe and the world.

To Wilhelm, Kaiser of Germany,

The time has come for Germany to lay down its arms. The Austro-Italian alliance stands ready to accept your surrender and to oversee the disarming and peaceful dispersion of your military forces, allowing your troops to return to their homes to live in peace. What remains of the legitimate governments of Europe will convene as soon as practicable to determine how best to reconstitute the sovereign states of the continent and to insure that peace can be sustained. For now, however, think of your people’s suffering and announce your surrender.

Signed,
Vittorio Orlando, Prime Minister of Italy

Franz-Josef, Emperor of Austria and Apostolic King of Hungary
11 Aug 14 UTC Autumn, 1909: What he said.
11 Aug 14 UTC Our only request is that Mustafa Kamal, currently residing in exile in a luxury apartment on the Unter den Linden in Berlin, remain unmolested, and allowed to live out his days peacefully dining on sweet pastry and strong coffee. Myself, I will be contented to confine myself to a modest home somewhere in the Netherlands - Doorne, perhaps. Keep close watch on my former troops, however - I fear that they may be used for great mischief sometime in the coming years.

Frederick William Victor Albert of Prussia
11 Aug 14 UTC Mustafa repeatedly claimed to have been a victim of his generals. Though I suffered the most from that coup, I am willing to allow the Sultan to live out his days in peace.
11 Aug 14 UTC Great game, everyone! That was a blast!
12 Aug 14 UTC *Detonates the Havoc Singularity, blanketing Europe in pandemonium and ichor.*
