It is harder to move up through Persia than Carthage. I didn't want to face the wandering Carthage fleet and spend time blocking it.

@Egypt. You did put pressure on me. In fact, you put so much pressure that you forced me to send a lot of units south instead of north. Also, near end game you should had really stopped coming after me and focused on defending your SCs. When you destroyed the fleet in Alexandria instead of army in Phazania or fleet in Gulf of Syrtis, you sent the wrong message and it could had given Greece a solo. Even when you are losing you need to try and make yourself vital and try and find a stalemate position. A different Carthage player would had just eliminated you and risk the Greek solo.
@Greece: I was hoping Persia would retreat to Capadocia and give you hell. Even with my fleet in Messenian I think you would had won.

I think both of us failed to send that message, Carthage. Besides, with my tiny number of units I could not have done anything except help Persia collapse and fight tooth and nail for every inch of my homeland. I didn't think there was a viable stalemate position to pursue when I was outnumbered in my own land and have no naval presence. The initiative was quite clearly yours to send a gesture of good will and I wasn't going to bet my only bargaining chip on that happening.
