20 May 14 UTC well played you two, I was considering going for a two way draw but it's very hard to comunicate that in gunboat so I decided no worth the effort
20 May 14 UTC Thanks to everyone who played for what was, for me at least, a very enjoyable and instructive game. I apologize for dragging out the end for so long. The draw thinning process is new territory for me, and I wanted to be certain I didn't give Austria an opening. Throughout the game I felt like I was several steps behind what was happening, and I was fortunate to be the power furthest from the I-T alliance.
20 May 14 UTC If any of you would like to play another, let me know. I'll try to organize another low-pot high-reliability gunboat in a day or two.
20 May 14 UTC gg to all. There were some impressive supports and convoys between Austria and Italy... I never seen that before in gunboat. How did you manage?
20 May 14 UTC Yeah, bihary, I've never been up against such a tight, well-coordinated alliance before. That Smyrna-to-Naples convoy was amazing.
20 May 14 UTC Well played. For a second i had hope to hold my southern flank, but with England keeping pressure on me, no chance.
Too bad Germany did not want to be my friend but choose england instead but i guess you see where that leads. :D
20 May 14 UTC I tried an agressive play against Russia this time. Austria supported Warsaw, with a stroke of genius, and I could not break through, and then I fell.
20 May 14 UTC France, in fact you attacked me and took Ruhr and Holland. I never in this game moved against you.
20 May 14 UTC That Smyrna to Naples Convoy was pure fluke, or perhaps educated guess work. I'm amazed by Italy's trust in me and I thank him for it.
But back to the convoy, we had already established a strong alliance between each other and neither of us was against any huge walls at the time. Italy saw me move out of Con in Spring 07 and into Greece. I was trying to suggest to him we de-militarise the entire zone. I then supported him into Smyrna the next turn whilst opening a pathway with my Greece fleet. Then it was just an issue of where his army would be most useful. Not much point convoying to Tunis as he had secured the Western Med so I guessed Naples as the best choice as Apulia cuts of any chance of him convoying further by himself
20 May 14 UTC as for Warsaw I really did consider supporting you in and going for a central alliance but the problem I had was where do I go from there, support Germany into Warsaw then what? crawl round the edge of Russia and just get stuck in St.P, go all the way round the sea or stab Italy. Italy at this point was still on 4 centers and had helped support me so I decided that I would do what was best for him and stopped you taking Warsaw
20 May 14 UTC gg all. Yep there was a decent amount of work going on there! Dr O, I wouldn't have let you thin the draw to a 2-way, it was just too risky a position for me to be in, obviously that was also why I felt the need to come back to Turkey and starting to hit on the Tyr, you were at 15 and far too close to solo'ing for my liking. Out of curiousity were you genuinely thinking about going for the solo? We prob would have struggled to hold you back.

That convoy was good - I wasn't expecting it to work first time, I thought I'd have to do it once for you to get the idea but worked out well.

Enjoyed it, thanks all. Feel free to PM if anyone fancies another one.
21 May 14 UTC No, once I had committed to helping you I never considered the solo. I'm pretty sure I could've taken Venice, Constantinople and Smyrna but the 18th would've been trickier. I was always aiming for the 2 way but unfortunately you got held up in France and I got too strong. I was going to give you the rest of Turkey but annoyingly England took forever to take out Germany and too many near stalemate lines to drag it out
21 May 14 UTC actually I probably could've kept Kiel so maybe but meh too much effort. One of the reasons I prefer ppsc
21 May 14 UTC That is interesting cos I only really play WTA, hence my commitment to stopping the solo. Yep, I was pretty confident you could have still done it if you wanted to but I had trust in you wanting to draw. I thought that might drive to Turkey etc would've given you the notice of what I was thinking.

I nearly jumped into Ankara just to try and level a bit more but was a little concerned about what you might do
21 May 14 UTC russia was a ding bat
