14 Mar 14 UTC Spring, 1994: I'd hold off on attacking him just yet. Wait to see how this plays out for a couple turns.
14 Mar 14 UTC Spring, 1994: Smedley = Ryan
Babyseals = Joe
14 Mar 14 UTC Spring, 1994: hahah who is the "him" you're holding off on attacking...you're so not international-secret-keeper caliber
14 Mar 14 UTC Spring, 1994: Sorry. That message wasn't meant for the global window. Stupid interface.
15 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1994: At what point are you allowed to call the US for help?
15 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1994: No joke! Then again, when the United States gets involved in European wars, Germany usually doesn't fare too well. All the open SC's just disappeared super fast. This shit is about to get real. May the diplomacy begin--in earnest!
15 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1994: Well this is 1994, so I'm banking on massive a massive fleet appearing in the Atlantic when I get attacked.
16 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1994: I think right about now Clinton was avoiding doing anything whatsoever in Rwanda. Don't hold your breath for a rescue. Also, I think this is about the time Republicans took congress and locked down Clinton's foreign policy.
16 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1994: I feel like the beginning of a game of Diplomacy is like dating someone new. You know if things are to progress, you will have to kiss them. However, you aren't quite sure what the other person is thinking. Yep, I think war is just like that. The first stab is always the most difficult.
17 Mar 14 UTC Spring, 1995: If you love someone, destroy them.
18 Mar 14 UTC Spring, 1995: Hey, all. Before everyone freaks out about the fact that I took Spain over using my other account. I DO NOT actually plan on playing Spain. More than anything, I just wanted to see if it was possible to take over another player's game that is already in progress. It turns out it is. Now, this does raise an interesting question. Joe has two builds that he never took advantage of. Because not everyone has the same opportunity to take advantage of the free territories left by Joe, I propose that we at least build the units he was supposed to build last turn. This would serve the purpose of forcing countries like France, Britain, and Italy to coordinate in order to make gains in Spain. This game is diplomacy after all. At any rate, I am only floating the idea. What say you all?
18 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1995: I agree that it should be made at least a little difficult to take over spain. Or we offer someone else in the department to take it over who may want to play, but knowing they are at a disadvantage.
18 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1995: Seems fair to me!
18 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1995: GameMaster: R Danger D was banned: multi. The time until the next phase has been extended by one phase length to give an opportunity to replace the player.
Remember to finalize your orders if you don't want to wait, so the game isn't held up unnecessarily!
18 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1995: I agree with Morgan. I say we put a moratorium on taking over Spain and we find someone from the Department to take over Spain. They will start with five units, so the disadvantage will be minimal.
18 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1995: Yeah, let's be real here folks. Why in the world would Jim give up a perfect opportunity to grow at a faster, easier pace than all of us?
18 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1995: Because Jim isn't a horrible person like the leader of Italy is.
18 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1995: At least in relative terms!
18 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1995: Hi everybody, vote "pause" until we can get Matt Foster into the Spanish home that he deserves!
18 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1995: Paused.
18 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1995: Done.
19 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1995: GameMaster: SmedleyButler was banned: duplicate. The time until the next phase has been extended by one phase length to give an opportunity to replace the player.
Remember to finalize your orders if you don't want to wait, so the game isn't held up unnecessarily!
19 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1995: Is Germany now a free for all? Or are we going to find a replacement? Alternatively, Ryan could clear the fuck out of his cookies and sign up for a new account to join. Is the banning process automated, or does someone read these chats?
19 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1995: As the German player I would like to emphasize that Germany is absolutely NOT a free for all. I know you meant Spain, but I wouldn't want people to get any ideas...
19 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1995: Poland is ready to play. At this point, I say we just let Spain be a free for all. Let's finalize our moves so the game progresses.
19 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1995: Don't attack me until after builds!
19 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1995: We can all cancel our pause votes! Matt is in!
19 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1995: I second El Guapo's plea. Let the man get his builds.
19 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1995: Anyone who references the three amigos deserves a shot!
21 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1995: GameMaster: NapoleonDynamite was banned: multi. The time until the next phase has been extended by one phase length to give an opportunity to replace the player.
Remember to finalize your orders if you don't want to wait, so the game isn't held up unnecessarily!
21 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1995: Oh dear god
21 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1995: Wow...just...wow.
21 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1995: Must be IP recognition. Pretty savvy web masters, no?
21 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1995: It might be possible for Ryan to sign up from the lab with a new screen name and university IP. He just can't login from home.
21 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1995: for the love of god just get some non-ryan account
22 Mar 14 UTC Spring, 1996: So are we just going to proceed with no one in control of Poland?
22 Mar 14 UTC Spring, 1996: Because we probably shouldn't.
22 Mar 14 UTC Spring, 1996: we can put it to a pause vote, if it is not unanimous, the game goes on as scheduled
22 Mar 14 UTC Spring, 1996: I'll pause if we have a plan about what to do about it.
22 Mar 14 UTC Spring, 1996: war is a damn mess! i'm voting pause for now.
22 Mar 14 UTC Spring, 1996: also, this is probably my last game for a while, but if there's another created after this, i submit for a name "...actually just oregon."
22 Mar 14 UTC Spring, 1996: I voted pause, but if people are fed up with waiting then so be it.
22 Mar 14 UTC Spring, 1996: I just voted pause. Not that I really wanted to. If this continues to be a problem and anyone thinks it creates an unfair advantage we could all vote to draw and start another game.
22 Mar 14 UTC Spring, 1996: Fucking Ryan...that is all.
24 Mar 14 UTC Autumn, 1996: Fuck the moderators. I tried to be an upright player, and we all got screwed.
I am back. Let's play.
04 Apr 14 UTC Autumn, 1999: Hey, everyone. I was just looking at the game and working through some moves, and, unless I am missing something, it looks like the game has stalemated from Siberia to Munich. If I am wrong, let me know and I will be happy to keep playing. However, in the meantime, I am going to vote to make this game a draw.
02 May 14 UTC Spring, 2006: Oops.
02 May 14 UTC Spring, 2006: Well you assholes would have loved the move I had in mind.
15 May 14 UTC Spring, 2009: This is what happens when I try to enter my move in the middle of Bayes.
20 May 14 UTC Autumn, 2010: seems like time to vote for the end of this game to me.
