Spring, 1901: Good luck to all! And godspeed. |

Spring, 1901: Good luck everyone. It will be a pleasure playing with you. |

Spring, 1901: Good luck to everyone. |

Autumn, 1901: I'd be willing to cancel if the CD countries give us too much of an advantage over austria. |

Autumn, 1901: I was hoping higher bets would decrease the amount of CDs. |

Autumn, 1901: you'd think, right? |
01 Mar 13 UTC |
Autumn, 1901: Yeah, truly bizarre. |
01 Mar 13 UTC |
Autumn, 1901: I really, really like the high stakes aspect of the game, but with CDs this is ridiculous. I say we draw and take 35 points apiece, then start a new game with 100 points as bet. |
02 Mar 13 UTC |
Autumn, 1901: I'd have no objection to a draw, but CDs are always a problem so we may not get five votes for it. |
02 Mar 13 UTC |
Autumn, 1901: I'll vote draw. What typically happens is that everyone will put in a draw vote after a turn or two of playing with CDs. It would be nice to make a commitment now, for the sake of everyone else, whether or not we will be playing this one out. |

Autumn, 1901: sounds good. |

Spring, 1902: I guess we are missing England now... @Turkey and Russia, do you think this is worth playing out? I am fine with continuing this game but it would be nice to get a commitment before devoting more time to this game. |
03 Mar 13 UTC |
Spring, 1902: Turkey is here to fight -- but of course, if England and Russia also want peace, we will not stand in the way. |
03 Mar 13 UTC |
Spring, 1902: I'll be keeping the draw vote through the duration of the game. Whether or not the other players do as well is up to them, i'm fine with whatever |
04 Mar 13 UTC |
Spring, 1902: This is such a strange game. I'm telling you all, let's draw and take home a profit |
04 Mar 13 UTC |
Spring, 1902: Russia-- what are your thoughts? Obviously you have the upper hand here. But if you haven't hit draw by winter, I'm removing my draw flag. |
04 Mar 13 UTC |
Spring, 1902: Well, the problem for me is that countries are drawn based on previous game finishes so a draw sucks for a Russian player in general (since Russia is a nice country to draw). I am inclined to play it out since the person who is at a real disadvantage is Germany, but he's gone and it's his own fault. I am certainly open to a draw eventually but I don't think a 7-player equal draw is the right way to go for any of the remaining players since it just helps Germany. |

Spring, 1902: ah i see. that must be why i never draw italy. |
04 Mar 13 UTC |
Spring, 1902: I think the way it works is when you start a new game, it calculates the countries you have previously finished games with and works out the correct probabilities to balance in the long-term. For instance, say you have concluded 6 games, and drawn England twice, France three times, Italy once--you'd be much more likely to draw Austria, Russia, Turkey, or Germany than France. |

Spring, 1902: right. well, regardless, i still think we should draw after germany CDs |
